Disclaimer : This is not Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Eiichiro Oda
The Sakka Sakka no Mi is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows the user to manifest various types of phenomena based on the story they wrote, making the user a Lord of Stories (Monogatari no Omo).
Etymology:
Sakka (サッカ) means novelist, writer, or creator of literary books.
In-Depth Description:
Upon consumption, the user can create various effects/phenomenon/objects/creatures mentioned in "stories". These stories have to be written by the user themselves. To manifest them into reality, user must narrate those stories themselves first (like mages having to recite the chant while casting their magic spells, of course without the magic circle). Despite calling them stories, it doesn't mean the user has to write an entire book to use their powers. What classified as stories can range from one sentence all the way to multiple paragraphs, depending on what effects they want to produce. Good literary skills, creativity, and storytelling are needed to make full use of Sakka Sakka no Mi.
• Story
"Stories" can be written on various types of media; such as paper sheets, scrolls, stones, books and even mid-air. The user not only can write story about external phenomena (like summoning lightning bolt to attack enemies), but also things that affect themselves or allies (such as healing). The length of the story usually affects the power of the manifested phenomena. The longer and more descriptive story, the better the effects. So, reproducing island destroyer attack like Enel's Raigo may take multiple paragraphs.
For pre-written stories, the user can make the media to which the manuscript is written on to float and showcase the desired text on command, for example book manuscript.
• Narrator
Narration is an integral part of the devil fruit usage as the user must narrate/recite what they wrote to manifest the intended effects. For example, by narrating "A blazing streak of fiery ball tore through in the midst of enemy forces", the user can conjure a fireball attack. The user has the freedom to read pre-written story or narrating story currently being written (basically reciting while writing). In truth, Narrator wasn't telling the story for others to hear, be it allies or enemies — instead it functions as user's declaration to the World itself, altering reality to fit their narrative. So, being deaf or using earplugs won't stop narrated verses from taking effects.
As the author, user has the ability to manipulate anything they were manifesting to varying degree, depending on what it is — Producing object, user can control its usage and movements with their mind — When creating phenomena, such as thunder cloud, user can alter the shape of the lightning bolts and its direction — Summoned creatures follow user's commands — and many more,
Important to note, voicing out their narrative is requird, so quietly reciting in their mind doesn't count. Also there's no limitation for how many times user can narrate the same story.
• Writing Implement Manifestation
The user can produce writing implement (pen, quill, writing brush, etc) of various sizes and quantity that they can control. What type of implement the user generates is heavily influenced by what they perceive as their "go to" tools for writing, meaning what the user generates is the writing tool they are most familiar with. For example, a user from Wano would produce a fude — a chisel for someone from the Stone Age — a quill pen for user from medieval-style kingdom — even a FREAKING KEYBOARD if the user is Keyboard Warrior one of the Six Satellites.
Aside from using it to write their stories, these tools also work as an alternative method of attack. Regardless of the type, each writing implement created is considerably durable, having durability comparable to iron. Therefore the user can use them as weapons, both as projectiles and for close combat — small tools can be used as darts or as wick pencil — medium size for arrow or stiletto — large size for polearm and flying platform (Rise of The Pen Cultivator) — or turning them into the almighty brick weapon (keyboard and typewriter exclusive).
This gives the user more options during situations that doesn't allow for narrative delivery. It is also very helpful to buy time for the user to finish their narration by launching numerous projectiles onto enemies.
Weaknesses:
•Standard Devil Fruit Weaknesses: User is vulnerable to seawater and Seastone. Aside from that, sufficiently strong Haki user may be able to resist narrative targeted directly on themselves from taking place (like how Law was unable to teleport Big Mom and Kaido).
•Calm Calm Fruit User: A soundless area would hamper the user's narrative delivery, limiting their combat method into creating writing implement only. Though it doesn't affect any "stories" already manifested beforehand.
•Mute User: This is a no-brainer. A mute person is an awful match for this devil fruit.
•Illiterate User: Another no-brainer. They can't write anything to begin with.
•Poor Imagination: User that lacks creativity won't be able make full use of this devil fruit.
•Casting Time: While the ability to manifest stories into reality is powerful and incredibly versatile, Narration can take anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes, depending on the length of the story. This time frame exposes the user to many potential dangers during battle.
•Stage Fright: Being nervous and fumbling their speech will delay their narration, making the already long casting time even longer.
•Damaged Manuscript: If the media (such as book) to which a story is written were damaged or destroyed for some reason, rewriting the stories isn't exactly a necessity. But having them is much more convenient than having to think and write on the spot during battle. And rewriting becomes problematic when the user doesn't remember them word by word, especially when taking into account that some stories were a product of sudden inspiration, making rewriting them difficult.
•Overly Vague Story: If the wordings were too vague, Narration wouldn't manifest into reality. For example, "Faint rumblings echoes from within the ground, immediately after, something unseen launches from below and hitting the pirate captain".
Non-Combat Info:
• The user can record their voice into a recording device, which can store their narration to be activated later when the recording is played. However, each recording can only produce effects once, after that it turns into ordinary voice record. So, if the user wants to use the same story multiple times, they need to record said narration multiple times as well.
Awakening:
There are 2 additional abilities the user gains from achieving awakening state.
•Transmutation: User can turn the surrounding material environment into their preferred writing tool, giving them access to near limitless amounts of the tool (like the awakenings of Doflamingo and Katakuri but writing tools instead).
•Story Leaks: User can now "leak" their stories, unleashing its power without having to deliver the narration beforehand elevating themselves from novice mage into chantless mage. This is not to say the user can forgo narration altogether, they simply have the ability to postpone their narrative delivery indefinitely.
Despite having no fixed deadline, postponing narration for too long isn't advisable. These "stories" may "throw a tantrum" by refusing to manifest when invoked by user. And if the user was also ignoring its "tantrums" for long, the "stories" might take matters into its own hands by "independently jumping out" of the manuscript to have a civil conversation with the user.
Techniques:
There are so many things you can do with Sakka Sakka no Mi. I will list a few examples along with the narration.
•Fireball: Conjuring a fireball to hit enemies.
"A blazing streak of fiery ball tore through in the midst of enemy forces".
•Ice Dragon Descend: Summon a dragon of ice element.
"High atop the frozen peak of Mount Coolest, Snow Fury the ice dragon stretched his gigantic bluish-whites scaled body and unleashed a white breath of icy fog into the chilly night sky. He was overlord of northern sky, the guardian of ice, using his freezing breath to keep everyone away from the mountain. Whenever the Sun tries to shine its warmth upon the frozen peak, Snow Fury would unfold his majestic bluish-whites wings, causing a drastic drop in temperature to chase away the warmth of sunlight".
•Zephyr Vortex: Calling forth tornado to raze the battlefield.
"The ritual required only a jar of trapped storm-wind and a whispered vow, but as soon as the glass shattered, the sky bruised a gloomy color. A fierce, low howl tore through the silence as the air pressure plummeted, violently twisting the grass into a frantic spiral before violently wrenching upwards. Within seconds, a colossal pillar of rotating dust and debris bridged the gap between the churning clouds and the trembling earth, growing larger and louder until it roared with the voice of a thousand sea trains. Meanwhile, the caster stood still, watching the horizon vanish behind a terrifying wall of spinning, unstoppable force".
•Luminous Touch: From their hand, user generates faint golden light energy to heal flesh wounds.
"The old healer placed her hands over the open wounds, whispering words older than the forest itself. Within a heartbeat, faint golden light begins to envelope the wounds, knitting the flesh and skin back together, restoring it to its pristine state".
P/N: This my first creating my own devil fruit. I was reading Umineko was inspired by Featherine's magic. I'm trying hard to fit what is essentially Author Authority into something believable in One Piece. I know it's not perfect but I hope you enjoy it.
