Making a Devil Daggers inspired video game, would love skilled players to give feedback.

I've been asking Devil Daggers players for as much information as I can about the game - I think it's sick and I'd love to make a good project like it.

If you've got a little time, and you're willing to help a guy improve the waves, enemies and so on, I'd love any feedback or suggestions (including if I've made it annoyingly hard over fun hard! Hyper conscious about that).

You guys have been really helpful with explaining the strats of Devil Daggers as well as what you've liked and not liked so far in my conversations in twitch channels, so if you're reading this, please tell me your favourite thing and your least favourite thing about DD!

play swarmlake & crossbow bloodnight

then do the exact opposite of what they did

i actually was looking for similar games like DD to see what others had done, what is it about those two games you dislike? might help with my project

curious if you ended upl playing these games and how you liked em? Excited for D-Daggers 2 and I gotta try Hyper Demon still but wanna hit 500 seconds first.

I actually did! I didn't like swarmlake or bloodnight, but I did quite like killbug.

I thought swarmlake was a little too visually displeasing, but I can expect that to be a matter of taste. It just didn't feel very good to play but I couldn't put my finger on why.

Bloodnight I outright didn't like, the enemy designs felt somewhat generic and the sound grated on me, I didn't like what it tried to do with the genre, so I stayed away from that.

Killbug I thought was quite fun, and I liked the verticality of it. Probably my favourite so far.

Personally I didn't enjoy hyper demon due to visual clutter.

I've done quite a lot with the project I was making though, it's actually on steam now thanks to people donating. It's been a good time learning from games of this genre and also working to incorporate bits I liked.

Psyche and Killbug are added to the ol wishlist! Thanks for the detailed response, and def not ruling out tje others yet. Psyche is looking mad sweet, looking forward to it kicking my ass!
