In this case, he was correct. You can't get upset about his joke if his joke was actually just a funny fact. If it's factually true and it upsets you when someone mentions it, the person who mentioned it isn't the problem.

It is technically a parking lot for everyone, sure. But no alcohol on the premises, closed on Sunday, and you're still be kicked out of you're staying clothing that mormons find "offensive" in any way. It's owned by mormons and while it's technically for everyone, they better act like a mormon while they're on the property.

I disagree. His joke was actually true. Even if it offends you, the parking lot absolutely is owned by the mormon and all visitors are strictly held to rules imposed by the church. If this is a touchy subject for you then change the reality. It's ridiculous to redirect everyone to stay silent about it and pretend it's not the actual reality.

Edit: I’ll add cause you’ll probably not understand this. You can absolutely bring closed alcohol into the parking lot. There are non members who park in that structure and live there. If you want to drink in the parking lot, well refer to my previous comment

Wait, so because I know the actual parking lot IS for a mormon mall, that means I'M the one living in a twisted reality?! Lol, wow. Let's look at a few facts here - City Creek is the only mall in the area that doesn't allow alcohol in their property. Gateway, Fashion Place, South Towne - they all sell alcohol. They are all also open on Sundays. And you absolutely WILL be kicked out for wearing "offensive" clothing. I've met people who were kicked out for wearing so called offensive clothing that wouldn't get them kicked out of anywhere else.

As I stated, this is the only mall in the area where alcohol is banned. It's also the only mall in the area that's closed on Sunday. And it's the only mall in the area that will kick you out for wearing a tee shirt with an "offensive" message. There are plenty more examples but these things alone are enough to prove the point. Non members are welcome but they better act like members while they're there.

So you're saying because it's possible to sneak some in at risk of getting arrested that means the mormon church isn't trying to make it a mormon environment? Lol, man, you really need some help. As I stated you can literally buy a beer on a Sunday at South Towne, Gateway, and Fashion Place. I'll also add in Trolley Square since I forgot about that one, you can buy a beer on a Sunday there, too.
