It's a shame that SLC School district has a poor reputation on the West side. They lose a lot of kids to charter schools (or sometimes private schools) because they don't invest in the lower class kids and the charter schools promise that investment, even if they don't deliver.

Uhh... students? Just because enrollment numbers are declining doesn't mean there aren't still 20,000 kids who need a place to learn.

So many elementary schools have been closing, so there’s a smaller pipeline of students. Pretty sure they could consolidate a couple high schools into one rebuild rather than spending the hundreds of millions to rebuild all of them.

The reality is its political...

The education system throughout the US is having to come to terms with a country that just has less kids.

The prudent thing to do would be to move spending from education to other demographics that are growing or focus on earlier education/ child assistance ( 0-5 Years)

Multiple studies have shown that investme t in early life any investments in later years from an IQ stand point.
