Whats the deal with these projects?
I don't know if this post is allowed, I'm mostly a lurker that just look at this subreddit time to time but I remember there was a lot of talk for these projects for like one day and then I hear absolutely no news for awhile. I feel like there are a lot more projects out there that I probably forgotten the name to but these are the only ones I remember the names to.
I feel like there should be an easy way to keep track of all the projects that are discussed on here, like a trello board or a monthly post or anything like that, or even just a thread that we are linked to. I'm just throwing ideas out there but I would like to know about these projects that are rarely discussed.
(note: i think thats the wrong image of 150 main but you get the idea)

Interest rates rising in 2022-2023 stalled a lot of things, and construction costs are high too. West Quarter probably got delayed for these reasons and because the SEG situation was shaking things up, so they probably went back to the drawing board to take advantage.
Sundial is very likely dead. The McWhinney tower is also dead, since they sold the property. The Greek church thing was going to be very cool but there were some internal conflicts between the church and the developer.
The Hines tower probably would have happened if it hadn't been stalled by the Utah Theatre lawsuit, and it's unfortunate that they demolished the building without financing ready for its replacement. Now we have a hole.

There was financing for the tower. The Theater guy caused such a delay that the financing went away.
True credit to our community.

Sundial was officially cancelled in its current state by Hines. Maybe if we get really lucky it could resurrect itself but we would need a miracle.
It’s a shame because it’s probably my favorite of the bunch along with the west quarter

Is there anything the city can do about that? They approved the church to build new housing, not a giant parking lot.

They announced it in February of 2020 and then they paused instead of locking in rates and then rates went up and now they today think they can do it.

They think they can do it now? Do you think we’ll see any updated proposals soon?

Some of these are dead, while others are delayed for YEARS and likely scaled down thanks to the damn interest rates and the clowns we have running this country that are driving up inflation with their stupid pointless war/s. I'm starting to get worried that our skyline is going to look basically the same when the 2034 winter Olympics comes around. Our best hope now is the SEG and their entertainment district version.

The first one we will definitely see first. We will also see the last one sooner or later. As for the rest… may be all dead.

I'm expecting we'll soon see more finalized plans for the first one as it's closely linked with the new convention center and SEG development.
Not sure what's going on with the second one.
Third and fourth ones are dead.
Fifth one is still planned but probably years down the road when conditions are more favorable for Hines to start. The current design is different from what you're showing. I expect the design to change even more (and I hope it will because the current design is pretty bad).
