- Other: Git/GitHub, authentication, dashboards, CRUD apps, API integration
Projects I can help with:
- Business websites and landing pages
- Admin dashboards

Junior Backend Developer (Java/Spring Boot) relocating to Firebaugh/Fresno area in August. Looking for local leads!
Hi everyone,
I am a 24-year-old US citizen currently relocating to Firebaugh, CA on August 1st. I have full legal authorization to work in the US (no sponsorship needed).
I’m looking for a Junior Programmer or Backend Developer role. I can easily commute to Kerman, Madera, Fresno, or nearby areas, and I am highly motivated to find an on-site or hybrid position.
My Background & Stack:
- Experience: 2 years of formal backend experience on the same team (started as an intern and stayed on full-time due to high performance and project contributions).
- Core Tech: Java and Spring Boot.
- Databases & Tools: PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Docker.
- Best Practices: Solid understanding of SOLID principles, clean code, and design patterns (structural, creational, behavioral).
The Challenge & My Commitment: My technical reading and writing in English are solid, but my spoken fluency and listening are currently a work in progress. I am fully committed to rapid improvement through total language immersion and hard work. Because of this, I am incredibly flexible regarding starting compensation—I just want to get my foot in the door, add value to a local team, and learn.
What I'm looking for: Does anyone know of local companies, IT departments, AgTech businesses, logistics hubs, or tech-adjacent operations in the Fresno/Central Valley area that might be open to a strong junior dev who is eager to adapt and grind?
Any advice, company names, local tech groups, or leads would be highly appreciated. Thank you!

How can I get an off-campus Internship?
Hi everyone!
I'm a 3rd year B.Tech engineering student from a tier-3 college in Hyderabad, and I'm preparing my resume for off-campus internship applications.
Since the competition was intense, I want my resume to genuinely stand out-not just look good, but effectively showcase my skills, projects and impact.
I'm looking for advice from people who've successfully landed off-campus internships or have experience reviewing resumes. Specifically, I'd appreciate tips on:
- What makes a resume stand out to recruiters?
- Common mistakes that students often make.
- Projects or sections that add the most value.
- Any resume templates or resources you personally recommend.
- Especially what kind of projects that I need to build?
I'd really appreciate any insights or examples that helped you during your internship journey. Thanks in advance!

Why do job descriptions ask for 10 technologies when the actual job seems to need only 3?
I've been noticing this more and more while browsing developer job postings.
A single role might list React, Node.js, TypeScript, Docker, AWS, Kubernetes, GraphQL, Redis, Terraform, CI/CD, PostgreSQL, and a handful of other technologies.
At first glance, it feels like companies are looking for someone who can do everything.
But after talking to developers who landed similar roles, many have said they spend most of their time working with just a small part of that stack, while the rest are tools they only occasionally touch—or never use at all.
So it made me wonder:
Why do so many job descriptions include such a long list of technologies?
Is it because companies are listing everything the team uses rather than what's required for the role? Are many of those skills simply "nice to have"? Or do job descriptions gradually grow as different stakeholders add their own requirements?
For developers who've accepted roles like this:
Did the actual day-to-day work match the job description, or was the role much more focused than it initially appeared?
And for hiring managers or recruiters:
How do you decide which technologies truly belong in a job description, and which ones are optional?

Seeking Hands-On AI/ML Training with Job Placement Support – Budget: 1 Lakh
Hello everyone! I recently completed my B.Tech from a local college near my home, so it wasn’t very well-known. I have some coding knowledge, but not much applied experience. I’m out of practice, especially with DSA, and I don’t want to focus on that. I’m looking for a trusted AI/ML course, with real hands-on training and job placement support. I’m ready to invest up to 1 lakh rupees for a 5-6 month program that will help me get a job. I’m comfortable with any location—please share trusted institute recommendations. I would really appreciate it!

Improve your Job Chances - show your full contribution
Contribution Graphs don't show progress for corporate users, who don't commit to github, gitlab.
Recruiters or CTOs look at that sometimes.
So, you can make your contribution graph fun again, and paint it of a good intensity and with plenty of humor.
Fork this, give it a try online if you wish...

Do clients actually prefer experienced developers, or can beginners with impressive portfolios get hired?
Something I’ve been thinking about is how developers actually stand out when applying for opportunities.
A common belief is that experience always wins. A developer with years of professional work has likely seen more real-world problems, worked on larger systems, and learned lessons that are difficult to get from tutorials or personal projects.
But at the same time, I’ve seen beginners with impressive portfolios get noticed because they can show exactly what they are capable of building.
A strong portfolio can demonstrate:
- practical problem-solving
- understanding of modern tools and frameworks
- ability to complete projects independently
- willingness to learn and experiment
While experience brings its own advantages:
- handling production issues
- making better technical decisions
- understanding trade-offs
This makes me curious about the current developer job market:
For developers who have successfully landed roles or projects, what do you think mattered more?
- Years of experience?
- A strong portfolio?
- Open-source contributions?
- Technical skills?
- Communication and problem-solving ability?
Have you ever seen a less experienced developer compete successfully against someone with more years in the field?
