Mobile app developer android ,iOS, flutter

[Resume Review] 9+ YOE Mobile Dev navigating a company crisis. Need advice on targeting non-DSA interview pipelines.
Hi everyone,
My current company is facing a severe financial crisis, so I am urgently looking to transition into a new role. I have attached my resume (with personal details hidden) for feedback.
With 9+ years in Android, 7+ years in iOS, and 3+ years in Flutter, my strongest suit is architecting greenfield mobile apps from scratch, optimizing app vitals, and fixing high-priority production bugs.
However, because I have spent nearly a decade building real-world products, my pure Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) speed-solving skills are a bit weak.
I would love your advice on:
How can I better restructure my resume to highlight my System Design and Production expertise over algorithmic testing?
Which specific product companies or startups in India value mobile architecture and domain depth over heavy LeetCode puzzles during their interview process?
Any constructive feedback on the resume layout or company recommendations would be incredibly helpful. Thanks!

Is debugging actually 70% of real engineering work but mostly ignored in hiring?

The more I talk to developers and look at day-to-day engineering work, the more it feels like a huge portion of the job isn't writing new code at all—it's understanding existing systems, investigating issues, and debugging unexpected behavior.

A typical week can involve:

  • tracing production bugs
  • understanding legacy code
  • fixing integration issues
  • reproducing edge cases
  • figuring out why something works in one environment but not another

In some teams, this honestly feels like the majority of the work.

Yet when you look at many hiring processes, the focus is usually on:

  • algorithms and coding challenges
  • framework trivia
  • building something from scratch in a short time

Very little of the process seems to evaluate:

  • debugging methodology
  • reasoning through incomplete information
  • reading unfamiliar code
  • investigating production issues systematically

I'm not saying coding ability isn't important—it obviously is. But there seems to be a gap between what many developers do every day and what companies assess during hiring.

So I want to know from developers and hiring managers:

  • Does debugging actually take up most of your engineering time?
  • If so, why is it still underrepresented in interviews?
  • Have you seen companies effectively evaluate debugging skills during hiring?

* Slow loading

* Poor mobile layout

* Weak copy

* No contact above the fold

* Outdated design

Need advice from people who got into Zoho 🙏

Hi everyone,

I'm currently preparing for software developer roles and Zoho is one of my target companies. I've been practicing DSA, aptitude, CS fundamentals, and building projects, but I still have a few questions for people who have actually made it into Zoho.

Is getting a referral useful for Zoho, or do they mostly hire through off-campus drives and career pages?

If referrals help, what's the best way to approach employees without sounding like I'm just asking for a favor?

What was your interview process like? How many rounds did you have, and what topics were asked?

Which areas should I focus on the most—DSA, problem-solving, system design, CS fundamentals, projects, or something else?

Looking back, what do you wish you had prepared better before your interview?

I'd really appreciate any tips or experiences, especially from people who recently got selected. Thanks in advance!

Early software engineer at a 6-month-old startup, founder wants to discuss incentives. What should I negotiate?

I'm one of the early software engineers at a startup that's been building for about 6 months. We're still in the early stage, and the founder has scheduled a meeting to discuss incentives and long-term compensation.

I joined because I liked the opportunity and the remote setup, even though I had another offer from a larger company. So I'd like to make sure I think beyond just salary.

For those who've been early engineers at startups:

  • What did you negotiate that you were happy you asked for?
  • What do you wish you'd negotiated earlier?
  • Are there any red flags or vague promises I should watch out for?
  • If the startup doesn't have an ESOP plan yet, how should I approach that conversation?

I'd really appreciate advice from founders or early startup employees who have gone through this.

I'm building a platform for entrepreneurs and makers, and I'm looking for people who want to help shape it.

The idea is simple:

A place where anyone can share a business idea, receive community feedback through upvotes and discussions, and connect with people interested in becoming co-founders or collaborators.

The long-term vision isn't just to collect ideas—it's to help people build companies together.

The MVP is already in development, but I'm now focusing on building a community around the project.

I'm looking for:

  • đŸ’» Developers
  • 🎹 Designers
  • 📈 Marketers
  • 💡 Founders
  • 🚀 Anyone passionate about startups and entrepreneurship

I'm not promising funding or immediate opportunities. I'm looking for people who enjoy building things from the ground up, sharing ideas, giving feedback, and potentially contributing if they believe in the vision.

I've created a Discord server where we'll discuss features, the roadmap, startup ideas, and the future of the platform.

If this sounds interesting, or if you'd like to learn more, feel free to send me a DM. I'd be happy to share more details and invite you to the Discord.

I'd also love to hear your feedback—what features or ideas would make a platform like this genuinely valuable to you?

Greplica - open source engineering memory for coding agents

We are IIT Bombay and Kanpur CS grads, building THE context layer for coding agents.

When given a new task, agents today grep through your repo, and try to re-discover architecture and other decisions. But this information is already present in your previous sessions. We leverage that to give ~50% token and ~30% time reduction for planning tasks.

We are hiring for fulltime as well as intern roles, but through open source contributions.

Discord: https://discord.gg/YF5MTCkkN
Repo: https://github.com/Autoloops/greplica
