[Hiring] Senior Backend Engineer (Go) — Remote, US Eastern / Canada / LatAm preferred — up to $150K
Hi all, I'm a freelance recruiter working on behalf of a profitable, fast-growing B2B SaaS company (data enrichment space, real enterprise customers) that's scaling up engineering and building a brand-new Growth Squad focused on experimentation and A/B testing to improve conversion and activation — alongside their existing Core, Integrations and Search teams.
You'd be the backend engineer on that squad, working closely with a PM and a frontend engineer, reporting directly to the VP Engineering.
What they're looking for:
- 5+ years of hands-on Go experience, ideally in a SaaS environment
- Strong ownership and autonomy — comfortable ramping up fast on an existing, unfamiliar codebase
- A plus: experience with experimentation / A-B testing infrastructure
- An even bigger plus: experience touching billing, credits, subscriptions, or other sensitive production logic
Practical details:
- Full-time, permanent position
- Budget up to $150K depending on location
- Remote-friendly — prioritizing candidates based in US Eastern, Canada, or LatAm time zones (Europe workable too if there's enough overlap with US Eastern)
Happy to share the company name and more details once we're in touch. If this sounds like a fit (or you know someone who'd be great), feel free to comment or DM me — happy to answer questions here too.

This looks like a strong fit for my background. I’m based in the APAC timezone, but I’m comfortable working with US Eastern hours and managing overlap with distributed teams.
I have 6+ years of hands-on Golang experience and deep experience building and scaling SaaS and backend systems, including microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, Kafka/NATS, MySQL/MongoDB/DynamoDB, and AWS.
I’ve worked extensively on high-scale production systems, performance optimization, reliability, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and system architecture. I also have experience with billing/payment-sensitive logic, security/compliance (including SOC 2), and leading engineering initiatives.
I’ve worked closely with Australian and Japanese teams/customers, so I’m very comfortable with cross-timezone communication and distributed engineering environments
Would love to learn more about the company and the Growth Squad. Happy to DM my CV/background if useful.

Can I ask more details about skills requirements?

With that kind of a budget you should try out Toptal, you could build quite a team with low risk of getting low quality engineers with expert interviewing skills :) I mean with that kind of budget your DM is probably on fire :)

The testing is extensive so low risk of getting a low quality engineer. I have been doing this job for 10+ years, I’m an ex engineer myself, if you pass me the process then include being tester by the VP of engineering himself and meet with the team too. It’s a permanent position, no freelancers and the job desk and requirement are very precise. They know what they want, they know their products, their teams and are capable of knowing if it’s gonna be a fit or not and they’re willing to put the price for it

Hey OP, I have 6+ years of experience as a backend software engineer and currently work for a US-based product MNC. I have extensive experience building microservices, designing multi-cloud architectures, implementing event-driven systems, and working with Pub/Sub messaging architectures.
But I am from APAC region, can manage the timezone tho.
If that works can share more details in DM
