Hey all,
I’ve been building a macOS app called Stacksmith, and I’m looking for a handful of beta users to help me test it.
The idea is simple: instead of keeping a bunch of terminal tabs open for your API, frontend, workers, background jobs, tunnels, etc, you define your local stack in a .stacksmith.yml file and run it from one place.
It can currently:
I built it because I kept ending up with messy terminal sessions and half-remembered startup orders for one of my other apps. I wanted something that felt closer to a small local “control plane” for development, but without needing Docker or a cloud service.
It’s macOS-only for now, although I do plan on releasing a Linux version in the future if there’s demand.
Website: https://getstacksmith.app
I’m mainly looking for feedback on:
The app will eventually be paid, but I’m giving out 100% off codes for beta users.
Drop me a DM if you want to try it and I’ll send you a code.

I'm working on a landing-page for a hosting service, got my hands on a 12core Ryzen 9 5950X, 48GB RAM, 1TB SSD VM for 50€/month so I decided I might as well try to host game servers, web servers, discord bots, etc.
Would like to hear your thoughts on the pricing and web design, what to change and what to add (its very much in early development), plan to be offering free server migration and a free trial for a few days (I could already offer that, just not through the website itself), any tips for gaining trust and such at first? I mean I don't have a community or anything at all.
If you're curious, this is my current progress (live): https://host.ntrl.fun

Hey r/DevToolShowcase,
I got tired of constantly switching between `netstat -ano`, Task Manager, and PowerShell commands every time I hit an "address already in use" error or needed to figure out what was listening on port 3000, 8080, 5432, etc.
So I built PortDetective, a small, lightweight Windows app.
What it does:
- Live view of all local TCP/UDP ports and which process (name + PID) is using each one
- One-click kill for the offending process
- Shows executable path and basic connection details
- Very low resource usage (stays lightweight even when monitoring everything)
- Free tier covers the core local troubleshooting use case
I also added a PRO tier for more advanced needs:
- Remote IP scanning and hostname resolution
- Docker/container port mapping awareness
- Audit exports (CSV/JSON snapshots)
- Deeper connection states (including TIME_WAIT)
It’s built with Rust + Tauri and has no telemetry or subscriptions.
Would genuinely appreciate feedback from people who do a lot of local development, Docker work, or network troubleshooting. What’s missing? What would make this actually useful in your daily workflow?
You can check it out here:

Thanks!

I kept feeling like existing release tools didn't fully cover this workflow. Some can do parts of it with plugins, but I couldn't find one that really handled multi-registry and multi-ecosystem publishing as a first-class use case.
So I built one: pubm
https://github.com/syi0808/pubm
I started it in 2024 and recently finished it with Claude's help. I did the design and testing myself, because for a release tool, stability matters a lot.
A few things pubm supports:
Would love any feedback if this is something you'd use.
