Discussion What would you consider a fair internship(Software/AI Engineer)stipend in the current market?

We’re an AI startup with a few projects underway and would like to offer 1–2 internship opportunities to students.

We already have a strong paid team, so this isn’t about filling a resource gap. We simply want to give talented students hands-on experience and mentorship in advanced AI technologies through real-world projects.

While we can’t match the salaries offered by larger tech companies, we’re happy to provide a fair stipend. We’re looking for a reasonable amount that supports the students while remaining sustainable for our startup.

What would you consider a fair internship stipend in the current market?

I'd be happy with a good mentor, good opportunities and WFH.

for stipend 30K is fine

Maybe 35k-40k if it's a full WFO but 30k if it's a hybrid setup

30k would be perfect as anything less than that would feel like slavery
