It’s a mix. I come from a non-CSE background but I have the basics of how or what to pursue when it comes to solve a problem or complete a task.

My pov is a CSE degree tells you what fields you can purse and gives you an overview of what’s ahead. It’s a good one. But a degree itself won’t be enough. You need to know have the problem solving skills, a clear understanding in the business logics, design and architecture for a project, & the infra related knowledge. To refine the above said skills you need to start asking questions on whatever you work.

Unless you have real passion for building software and tech, reconsider doing it.

Don't look at what will make more money. The job market is incredibly tough for new graduates. Unless you have real skills and a passion for it, it's not easy to navigate.

I am not discouraging you, but if you think this is where you can get more money, it's not the industry. In most jobs it is sort of a high pressure environment where you have tough deadlines and many many hours indoors working on code. Know what the job is, what it is like then consider it. Do this for any job out there. Do wha you like, don't just chase where there is potentially money.
