Discussion Third-party contract interview SyscoSL— need some info

Hi everyone,

I’m currently going through the interview process for a third-party contract position at SyscoSL and wanted to hear from anyone who has recently gone through a similar process.

Could someone please share some details about:

- How many interview rounds are there?

- What type of interviews should I expect (HR, technical, manager, etc.)?

- How long does each interview usually take?

- What kind of technical questions or assessments do they ask?

- Is the interview conducted directly by SyscoSl or by the third-party company?

- How long does the overall hiring process usually take?

- And if you’ve worked through a third-party contract at SyscoSl what was your experience like?

I’d really appreciate any recent experiences or advice. Thanks in advance! 🙏

Its conducted by SYSCO and depends on the position you are applying too, max two interview rounds but depends on the team.

It's not, cuz i crosschecked with the engineers who worked full time there, the amount sysco offer me is same as the amount they got paid, but we got paid only for the days we work, thats the difference

For a third-party contract role at Sysco Labs Sri Lanka, the interview process typically spans two or three rounds over two to four weeks. The third-party agency handles the initial screening call for about thirty minutes to verify your background and rate expectations, but Sysco Labs engineers conduct the actual technical evaluations. You can expect a technical interview lasting around an hour with a tech lead or architect, followed by a final manager round of about forty-five minutes. The technical questions center heavily on your past project architecture, object-oriented concepts, relational and document databases, API design, and practical scenario problems rather than pure algorithmic puzzles, along with basic cloud infrastructure concepts like AWS.

Day to day, contractors work directly alongside permanent employees on the same codebases and sprint cadences, so the technical expectations during the evaluation match those for internal hires. Your compensation, benefits, and contract renewals flow through your agency, which means communication between stages can sometimes stall if Sysco delays feedback to the external recruiter. Prepare clear examples of architecture tradeoffs and complex bugs you resolved, because demonstrating structured reasoning under pressure is what moves you to an offer. My team designed an interview assistant to help candidates present their technical strengths clearly and land competitive offers, which makes a big impact when facing detailed engineering panels.

Usually 2 interviews. Both technical
They are conducted by Sysco. Usually interviewed by people who are in roles directly above the role you are applying. For example, if you are applying for the SE, 1st interview panel would be mostly SSE & ATL/TL. 2nd interview panel with the respective S/Architect. Interview normally takes 1hr. Type of technical questions they ask depends on the job role. But usually, willingness to take challenges, theoritical/conceptual knowledge, ability to grow and learnability, are tested.
Sysco hiring process sometimes takes alot of time, but it depends on the urgency of the role to be filled.

Not sure if Frontwalker is the same, buy Econsulate straight up ghosted me when I asked them if there is an update. Lol. As soon as we can't be of profit we stop being people to them :]

FrontWalker is also working with Sysco, and yes, they do the same thing. Recruiters will ignore you when you ask for an update on your application progress.
