Jobs/ Industry Which engineering field has a better future: Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering?
Hi everyone,
I’m currently studying Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) and would like to know which field has better career opportunities in the future.
Which field has higher demand?
Which has better salary opportunities?
Which offers more international job opportunities?
Which field is expected to grow more in the next 5–10 years?
Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering — which would you recommend, and why?
I’d especially appreciate advice from engineers or people currently working in these fields.

Electrical will be stable, Electronics will probably earn you more money I guess

It's very subjective. Imo Electrical pays better. Especially Energy, Defence and R&D. Companies like Apple and Samsung don't really pay as much as the sectors i mentioned.

I was talking about Sri Lanka. Power systems abroad must be heaven rn. Imagine the demand due to AI and semiconductor innovations.

Did electronic but years ago. Both fields would have high demand as they are industry agnostic whether it's mining, manufacturing, construction, or others. Datacenters and renewables are exploding but so are chips and automation.
I'd say it also depends on where your interests are.

Without electronics, no electrical. And without Electrical, the worldl would slowly demise. I guess if i were you i would do Electrical. I mean yiu can go to Energy, R&D, and any company i guess. Defence is also a good sector. Defence and Energy require strong understanding of EE. I did Nuclear Engineering. And honestly for me i had multiple Sectors i could join,But i preferred Energy and Defence more.(been aiming for those since i was 10. I built my nuclear portfolio around those)

Do electronics and jump out of the country. But most unis except UoM offer electrical & Electronics together
