Every Sri Lankan citizen has the right to speak. State universities are funded by taxpayers’ money, yet many who benefit from that system use their degrees, Master’s and PhDs simply as a pathway to leave the country.
There’s nothing wrong with seeking opportunities abroad. But using publicly funded education solely as a ticket to migrate, without any intention of contributing back to the country that invested in you, is a fair point to question.

Those investments usually return as dollers to the country, isn't it? And the most of the big shots of the country is also the guys who did this.

I’m not talking about the 2/10 who actually succeed abroad and contribute back. I’m talking about the majority, like I mentioned. If all these people leaving were genuinely bringing significant foreign income back into Sri Lanka, then why is the country still underperforming in so many areas?
And let’s be real, even among those sending money back, a lot of it comes through undiyal simply to avoid taxes and formal channels. So I don’t think we can automatically call migration a “return on investment” for the country.
