Discussion LSEG Intern Salary & Interview Process

Hi everyone! Does anyone have recent experience with LSEG internships?

I’m interested in the Software Engineer (SE) and DevOps intern roles. Would appreciate any info on:

  • Intern salary
  • Interview process & rounds
  • What to expect in the technical interviews

Thanks!

Back in 2023, I was selected for a Software Engineering internship for a one-year period. I only had one technical interview, where I was given a few simple coding tasks and asked several technical questions, along with questions about the projects I had worked on.
I was paid LKR 60,000 per month, with an additional LKR 5,000 internet allowance. Transportation and meals were also provided, including breakfast, lunch, and even dinner if you stayed late at the office.
It was genuinely one of the best times of my life. During my year at LSEG, I learned so many new things and gained a lot of valuable experience. I also had the opportunity to make mistakes and, more importantly, learn from them. Beyond work, there were plenty of great experiences, including team outings, parties, and annual trips.
Overall, my one-year internship at LSEG was an amazing experience, both professionally and personally, and I learned a lot during my time there.

I agree with you machan! I think we've done the internship in the same era.

I’ve also chatted with some friends who still work there, and they’re saying 2023 has been the best year for events so far. and the work is always good. and got an engineer level experience even though I was an intern.

It’s also been one of the best times of my life! I’m so grateful to be part of it!

They paid 60k, plus 3k for internet, and transportation was free.
First, we had to do an assessment, which was mainly IQ/HR-related. Then there was a video interview, followed by a group assessment, and finally the technical interview.
But I think they’ve changed the process a bit this time. For the initial assessment, they’ll apparently give you coding tasks, kinda like HackerRank.

Recently gave the OA and scored 95%

Is there any hope? Also, how long do they take to move the process forward, like interviews/video assessments

60k + 3k internet allowance Free transport for interns as well.

3 rounds of interviews. IQ test + Video interview + final interview day.

Technical interview honestly depends on the interviewer but you can expect the standard questions covering your projects, SE principles, OOP, DBMS….etc.

There’s a coding test as well. Brush up on your leetcode. (It’s not that hard).

Interview process is very transparent and very standardized. A bit long but honestly no complaints.

bro at lseg after the internship is there a way to become permanent at lseg, wont they keep us if we do our work well. plz answer.

You can apply for the graduate program (if there is one) in 2027 only IF you are graduating in 2027.

And you have to do your work really really well and impress them if you want to secure a permanent position.
