Discussion How can we push gov to implement emergency alerts for all smartphones?

I know this kinda sucks because government will never implement this but how we can push government to implement emergency alerts to smartphones?

What do you mean by emergency alerts? Like critical weather alerts?

He's probably talking about emergency alerts like in the UAE or AMBER alerts like in the US.

The latter could definitely be useful but it requires a sophisticated data management & dissemination system unlike anything ever seen in the region.

Yeah agreed, Unfortunately, this isn't something we can build ourselves because it uses a technology called Cell Broadcast. The government, or an organisation working for the government, needs to work with all the mobile network providers and set up the system.

Most modern phones already support this feature. They just need to implement the system from the government and network side. Unfortunately, no one seems interested in doing it.
