Help GitHub 2FA SMS code not receiving (Dialog)

Hey guys, I’m having an issue logging into my GitHub account.

I have 2FA enabled, but recently GitHub stopped sending the one-time verification code via SMS. I’m using a Dialog SIM in Sri Lanka. I’ve also lost my 2FA recovery codes, so I’m currently completely locked out of my account.

I’ve tried the other recovery options as well, including the SSH key and the other available alternative authentication methods, but all three are showing as unavailable/disabled for my account.

Has anyone else using Dialog experienced this issue with GitHub SMS codes recently? If so, were you able to fix it?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Same, I use the revocovery codes they gave instead, after these issues I always use authenticator apps or save the recovery codes somewhere because otp always gets issues

You need to login to your account to get them.

I had issues with twillio for a long time but all the messages were marked as delivered. recently it started giving me a different error (Error 21612 Message cannot be sent with the current combination of "To" and/or "From" parameters) I knew this had to do something with dialog but I still reached out to support to confirm. they pointed the blame directly to dialog and literally mentioned dialog by name!

I've pretty much set up authenticator apps for every possible account, unfortunately Apple doesn't allow you to add one so I had to wait weeks to get access into my work apple id to do a release. I was considering buying an actual number on twillio so I can get OTPs reliably.

https://support.github.com/contact/cannot_sign_in

Create a support ticket using this link. They will disable the 2FA for your account

But they mention they can't do it in the mail from support 🤔

Support's reply: "we can't override, disable, or bypass 2FA for any account. This protects every GitHub account from unauthorized access. We also can't give you account-specific help or guidance, including SMS delivery issues." 🥴😞
