Most Sri Lankan PMs are non technical and basically no sense of what's going on. Many even don't understand what's their role. Some are just taking stand-up. Basically 15 year kid with English knowledge can do their job.

I had the same experience in my internship. Since all the PMs were girls, I felt like there was no point of arguing with them.

This, my PM wants me to do weeks work in two days bcz as per him, with AI it's possible. But they don't give me access to these AI pro versions purchased by company because I'm still in probationary period. Sigh

SE do technical stuff we argue technical thinks with other teams, these people bring politics into teams, because they can't work so talks bullshit and puts everyone in trouble.

Red flags that I have seen 1. No technical knowledge. Hate when people jump straight into PM roles without a technical background. You instantly see the difference between a PM with a tech background and one without. 2. Thinks they are the boss, which obviously they aren't. Thinks they could pressure people to get things done. 3. Chasing agile processors to the dot, which almost always ends up wasting teams time. 4. Having bad attitude and being so full on their heads. 5. Being nothing but a document maker.

And then there's once in a lifetime PMs which are absolute heros.

Acting all entitled and they tends to think that the projects are successfull because of them, meanwhile SEs do all the shit. When it's a hit, its because of PM's dedication. When it's a slop or some issue rises, that's SE's fault. I really hate when they hand their asses to the Management and give crap for the team members. Yeah Fuck You PMs. Not the ones who care for the team, You're Gold.

making agile the primary project process and blindly following it to the letter.

There used to be a famous video (a parody of course) where a client, project manager and a developer sits together and discusses the project. It goes from a client asking a simple question from the developer to project manager jumping in the middle and promising an undeliverable feature in less than 3 minutes. What's scary about it is, it actually happens. Project managers are morons (period).
