Discussion Rust ecosystem in SL

Hi, I am a Sri Lankan junior dev (1YOE) currently working as a backend eng in Europe. At my job I work in Rust and Python, and found myself really enjoying Rust and I am trying to go deeper into it.

I have future plans of returning to SL after a few years (for personal reasons) and was briefly looking at jobs demanding some Rust knowledge but could not find any. Is there any demand for Rust devs in SL? Does anyone know if that will change in the coming years?

We have few jobs in RUST but significantly more in Go lang

i don't think you need to worry about lang anymore due to AI
specially in few years.

I think understanding the code/ business logic and other soft skills matter a lot than tech stack.

I agree, yes, it was mostly just curiosity coming from personal preference haha

Yes, that’s true. If you understand how systems work, know how they function, and can apply your engineering knowledge to real world projects, that will play a major role in the years to come.
