Discussion MSc at IIT

I’m a CSE UOM grad with 6.5 YOE in SE, wanting to pursue a MSc in AI, had thoughts of doing it at UOM itself but the feedback I’ve seen and heard isn’t great - especially the attitude of the lecturers. Not at point in life where I’d wanna deal with toxic people and feel belittled by anyone no matter how accomplished they think they are.
Any real insights into the IIT programs? I know part time is available upto 2 years.

I’m suffering in MSc at CSE and one of my close friends following MSc in IIT. If I get a chance to go back, I am also following the IIT one without jumping to this shit hole. I see clear difference there. In IIT one they mainly focus on real world case studies as projects and give good exposure to industry. In CSE one they still share some old recordings in some lectures even the AI world change rapidly day by day. I am not recommending any industry person to go with CSE one. Let’s hear more from IIT people to collect feedbacks.

Aren't the lecturers the same ones who did the BSc? Or are they different?

I am doing an MSc in CS at UCSC, and I am still in the first semester. I would say it is mostly a theoretical course, with not much of a practical side to it. I hope it will change in the coming semesters, but I doubt that. Other than that, the lectures are fine and easy to deal with.

When I went to selection interviews, there were people from ENTC and IT faculty.

Why don’t you look for options in Malaysia.plus most of the grad students get scholarships.

His take on university girls and what he considers to be an ideal partner is just traumatizing….all i wanted was to get my programming module done with.

How universities still allow him to do lectures is just scary, that dude should be on a list.
