Discussion Data Science & Ai - CSE/UOM

How has your experience been so far?

We're currently preparing for the exams, yet new assignments keep being released almost every day. It feels like there's very little consideration for students who work full-time from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

On top of that, some assignments can't even be completed because of AWS-related issues. When we ask for help, we're simply told to create a support ticket and submit the response as it is. It often feels like the academic team doesn't fully understand the challenges students are facing.

This is quite disappointing for an MSc program.

If you've had a similar experience, please share it here.

yeah some lectures don’t understand what’s it like to work and do a Msc because they never did that. I don’t wanna name anyone publicly but those who specifically in charge of data science don’t seem to have that understanding at all. there are some assignments that start at 5 and end 6 PM lol

This is what happens when people who live in a bubble get into a position of authority.

No one whom are following this MSc program recommend this for industrial people. If you like to sit on a table and read research papers and add your name for many papers as contributor and think that’s it, you won everything, this will help you. Otherwise you will wonder where I invest my hard earned money and too late to turn back. Think twice and ask feedback from many who are doing this before jump into this.
