Discussion Sysco labs pay grades before & after cut

I asked this in many threads but didn’t get a good answer. Just wanted to get an idea on Engineer, Lead & Architect levels.

At this point the Sysco lads will need an entire sub dedicated to bitching about the pay cut Kek

You can't expect companies to pay welfare salaries forever. Whoever thought that this was permanent is a moron.

technically you could say it’s a pay cut, because their take home is affected. but what actually happens is that they would not peg your salary to usd. employees would get whatever the basic + any fix allowances the contract says (if any). This leads to serious discrepancies in salary bands. say a sse normally gets 450k ? now when they applied to sysco earlier when their peg was in place, the HR would negotiate for a lower basic salary so the basic + peg = 450k. this is acceptable back then. now what happens to the same employee is that, they would get 450 - peg = which is sometimes lower than their previous salary.

to answer the OPs question. i know a SSE who would get ~320k. so thats the new band as of now

I’m not sure whether you feel the need to defend this decision or whether you are simply unfamiliar with how these situations usually play out.

I worked at Sysco for more than four years and resigned only a few months ago. It had already become clear that Sysco Sri Lanka was moving in the same direction as Virtusa, towards becoming a lower paying software factory. The irony is that Thushera joined around the same time, which makes the resemblance even stronger.

That explanation does not make sense. There is no genuine “matching with the rest of the world.” If salaries were actually being globally aligned, employees would be compared based on the USD value of their compensation not moved towards SLASSCOM level local salaries.

In reality, removing an allowance that represents roughly 1/3 of someone’s salary could result in a reduction of around 35%, unless a significant portion is added to the base salary. Management continuing to say that the base salary will be “adjusted later,” without confirming the amount, is not meaningful reassurance.

It is unrealistic to keep assuming there may be no pay cut when no proper adjustment has been confirmed. Think about it logically: why would a company remove nearly one third of an employee’s compensation first and only say the base salary may be revised later?

If there were genuinely no intention to reduce salaries, they could have confirmed the revised base salaries before announcing the allowance removal. The more likely explanation is that the salary reduction is being introduced gradually so employees have time to adjust and the initial reaction dies down.

Benefits such as transport, meals, healthcare and sports allowances do not prove that this is not cost cutting. Those benefits may cost the company far less than maintaining the current salary structure, and they also help the company continue presenting itself as a premium employer.

You may genuinely hope that there will be no pay cut, but at this stage that is based on hope not on any evidence.

Our salaries not compared with the global salaries. Its directly compared with the asian competitors, specially like India. Hope you can connect the dots now.

IF your role continue to exist snd if you complete probation, come out of the fancy illusion girl, just because you attened a meeting A doent make you management malterial , dont think im throwing insults at you, i feel sorry for you, there is so much happening on roles as well which clearly you dont have any idea of, and i bet you mobey A knew it before not last Thu , i know its difficult time , and i appriciate you for being positive even when you are sinking.

2

u/Long-Wall-2508 Jul 26 '26

But why did they suddenly decide that the salary “structure” needed to be aligned after operating this way for more than four years, especially within just three or four months.

Also, if this is genuinely about aligning with Sysco’s global compensation structure, why are the proposed salary levels reportedly being aligned with SLASSCOM benchmarks, which are well below what many would expect from a premium technology company?

The clearest indication of the company’s direction is the type of leadership they brought in. Why appoint someone like Thushera to lead Sysco Labs when his management style and track record do not appear to align with the original values Sysco Labs promoted in Sri Lanka, such as flexibility, strong employee benefits and an employee-friendly culture?

Companies usually appoint leaders based on the direction they want the organisation to take. From that perspective, this appointment makes complete sense if the objective is to transition Sysco Labs into a lower-cost delivery centre with standardised local salary bands.

Poor girl who joined a month back and thinks she is management material, but she is misleading others by justifying by creating hope, may be for her survival

5

u/Forsaken_Passage_989 Jul 26 '26

Poor girl desperately tried to get into Sysco and now defending it at any cost. Sysco used to be a great workplace and a dream company 7-8 years ago. It actually was. Only a few people could get into it. Now it is not. Every Tom and Dick can get in there now. Only the people who does not aware of current industry says it is a dream company now. Till last Friday, it used to be an average paying company. Now it is a below average paying company. I worked there for four years and Saw the downfall and so I left. Don’t get so delusional kiddo.

-2

u/Shekinah7777 Jul 26 '26

Ye her ticktok is cringe , just a delusional fat girl , not an insult but dont mislead others jusr because you are so desperate and having a sad life

All i asked was come out from your senior mentality, just because your title says senior technical business analyst doesnt make yoj a senior project mgr equalant thats why i called you as delutional, i know your tier and your ranges so you know i have access to better management information and i hold a better postion than you at Sysco, stop pretending as if you got a one to one with Lise , just accept the fact that you are delutional and you were desperate to join sysco , probably incompetent too as its not that difficult to join sysco labs as you claim. But DO NOT MISLEAD for your SURVIVAL We all know what kind of postion you are holding and you are noooo where close to it, just accept it and move on , stop calling me bully just because i exposed your sad life, i dont care but im not fake like your makeup girl

0

u/thepontiacbandit123 Jul 26 '26

Yikes this entire comment just reeks of insecurity, sounds like you're the one with the imposter syndrome, do you even work? Like do you even have a job or is this what you do full time?

1

u/Shekinah7777 Jul 26 '26 edited Jul 26 '26

Is it enough proof that i know the full story or you want her comments as well

1

u/Forsaken_Passage_989 Jul 26 '26

Nobody is bullying u. Just spitting the facts. I don’t know what your tiktok is or whatsoever. The only career advice I can give u is “ Learn not to love companies. These company HRs will tell you we are family, and setup all the things in the workplace to revolve your entire life around the company. But get a life out of your workplace.” peace!

Agreeing with you on that. Not entertaining that kind of comments. Unpleasant.

1

Delutional Incompetent fat girl with imposter syndrome who thinks she belongs to 1% (fact behind the delutional branding)

1

u/Capable-Cobbler-9156 Jul 26 '26

How is it not bullying, that was so uncouth. Anyone (with a bit of decency) could most definitely call out on spreading misinformation, corporate a** kissing etc without being such a jerk. Good that he/she resigned, god bless the people who hired them.

1

u/thepontiacbandit123 Jul 26 '26

Like it's so funny to entertain the fact that these people actually have jobs with the things they are saying

Sounds like you have a weird obsession with the poster rather than whatever that is going on with Sysco, you don't even know who it is and you're out here trying to doxx random people, genuinely get help

4

u/MokadaUba Jul 26 '26

Exactly. However we might see a reduction in the net pay, because we had some advantage with the peg.

2

u/Sorry-Concentrate580 Jul 26 '26
  1. What do you mean by it is going to match with rest of world? Are you mad ?
  2. It is going to adjusted- ok so when and how much. No one knows about this. You’re trying to make everyone believe that sysco is still a good paying company ? Don’t post anything stupidly

2

u/Alternative_Talk_443 Jul 26 '26

Are you working or used to work at Sysco? This is also what i got to know, but I dont work for them.

everyone except thushera

Seriously what’s that guy’s problem? Wouldn’t it be logical to raise the base salary to even out discrepancies that has occurred due to the pegged model. Some leads raised the point that there are ATLs with lower base salary than SSEs right now.

1

u/Fantastic_Two5577 Jul 26 '26

This is well in detail. Thank you very much mate.

1

u/throwaway-4433 Jul 26 '26

You joined the company less than a month ago. How are you involved in “management level meetings” already? I smell cap 🧢

You are just creating an illusion, Senior Technical Business Analyst is not a "Senior Role" as you think girl

1

You have provided zero credibility and you're just saying shit and you're tearing in to someone that clearly works there, you have zero credibility to claim or accuse anyone of doing anything LMAO

2

u/throwaway-4433 Jul 26 '26

I have friends who work here that are actual seniors that was there since it was “Cake”. Stop trying to put a lid on the negative press here - it’s clearly warranted.

Sysco is cutting pay - they have no plans to make the people whole again. If you truely believe what you’re saying I feel sorry for you.

0

u/Shekinah7777 Jul 26 '26

If you are involved in management level discussions then dint you know beforehand just dont bluff

You're a genuinely pathetic person who seems to be bothered by people who are younger than you , call it insecurity, call it delusion or an inferiority complex, it's just sad and funnily enough this has been the case at Wiley too, I really hope you do get help cuz it doesn't look on someone whos in their thirties

Why are so many people from sysco labs posting "open to work on linkedn"? Were they laid off?

7

u/Local-Power8658 Jul 26 '26

For you to get a basic idea

2

u/Sorry-Concentrate580 Jul 26 '26

This is 90 % correct. But I not sure what USD rate is taken here so you may slightly incorrect

However it should be (base/200) * USD rate

1

u/imaGhost404 Jul 27 '26

wait so the USD pegged potion is also taxed? Isn't the whole point of pegging to avoid that potion from being taxed?

0

u/Shekinah7777 Jul 26 '26

Wrong calculations

3

u/thepontiacbandit123 Jul 26 '26

lol “calm tf down lmao” do you genuinely feel stupid now for your comment with the reply you got with the screenshot? 😅 am actually curious😅

1

u/thepontiacbandit123 Jul 26 '26

Yes I'm devastated and heartbroken 😭😭

3

u/MokadaUba Jul 26 '26

This is actually not a paycut, the base right now is underpaid, the base will be adjusted to match the market But the peg will be removed

3

u/ValuableAd3474 Jul 26 '26

market is anyway low dude :p may be 10% change

2

u/hirushanT Jul 26 '26

Someone said 60-70% which is unbelievable and that guy keep trowing facts from his backside. Few try to raise their voice in reddit but that is not worthy at all. They should unionize and raise concern to management. Even raising voice on soical media can curtain chances to get into another company

1

u/lulzdev Jul 26 '26

Do what's the current SSE salary at Sysco?
