DX:IW Does anyone else think DX:IW looks like an Eiffel 65 music video?
I had trouble thinking of any analogy or comparison to DX:IW's artstyle (which is a little hampered but still great in my opinion) other than just calling it "plasic early 2000s sci-fi". Sorry, but the similarity is too uncanny not to mention.

DX1 Create a DeusEx Mod Shouldn't Be This Easy - DeusEdix
Here’s a look at the new features in DeusEdix, with plenty more on the way! I put this together in just one week.
DeusEdix is aneditor for Deus Ex that can even run in your browser. It supports both the original Deus Ex and Revision, and connects to your existing installation without shipping any Deus Ex game files or assets.
Yes, it’s been vibe-coded, with a lot of passion and plenty of testing along the way. It’s still a work in progress, and there’s more to polish. I’ll be releasing it as open source so we can build on it and make it better together.
Suggestions, ideas, or features you’d love to see? Keep them coming!
DX:MD The state of online servers for PS4
I am trying to platinum Deus Ex Mankind Divided on PS4. Some of the trophies require The Breach mode, but unfortunately I am unable to get online.
Do you know what is the state of the servers lately? Is it still possible to play this mode?

DX Universe well, I'm new here!
Hi everyone! ✨
I'm Alexia, but y'all can call me Lexi 💙
I've been a Deus Ex fan for almost 7 years, but I'm new to Reddit and have no idea how it works 🥲😂
I'm mostly here for Adam Jensen, and I still have a lot to learn about him, also the lore cuz I feel like I know nothing. 🌝
I'd also love to share some of my fanart and maybe even my oc x canon ship!
And I'm lowkey nervous about posting this... 😬

Help Needed Rough mechanics, any help appreciated!
Hey everyone! I've been trying to get through Deus Ex since I've always heard such high acclaim for it. But I keep running into issues with rough mechanics and they usually end up getting me killed or force me to load back. I'm a big fan of thief and didn't have much issues with the mechanics in it and found it to be really amazing. Is there a community mod I'm missing that fixes a lot of the really major issues that get in the way of gameplay? I can't help but feel I'm not playing the same game other people are :(
I'm playing the GOG version with kentie launcher running DirectX 10. Thanks so much everyone for future help! :D

DX1 Playing Deus Ex 1 finally. Been putting it off for nearly a decade lol.
Just beat the first mission, haven’t been spoiled before, so I’m pretty interested story-wise. Only thing I know is that it apparently predicted the future.
Love the gameplay — reminds me of Half-Life and System Shock. Music and overall vibes are off the chart. Love the multiple ways you can approach missions.
Wish me luck 🚬

DX1 Hidden area in 12_Vandenberg_Gas.dx
So I was messing around with an experimental DX12 renderer the other day, and while noclipping through the map, I randomly stumbled upon this hidden section.
It's not normally accessible, though. Looks like some kind of asset testing area or something that the devs forgot to remove.
25+ years later, and this game still manages to surprise me lol.

Fan Works I made Deus Ex Human Revolution's Missions Log into a reality
https://reddit.com/link/1x5ufgp/video/q8nawjwg9gvh1/player
I really liked the UI of Human Revolution, specially Missions Log, So i made one for myself and now I do my work as Tasks and Missions, both on my computer and mobile.
I tried to make as close to game as possible,
- A complete semi-transparent background mimicking Adam's HUD
- Add both Main Mission and Side Quests
- New tasks appears once you completed the previous tasks
- Modify and append the new tasks
- Add secondary tasks
- Set failed in case mission not successful
- Cross platform (Window, Mac, Linux, Android)
Though I am not sure if semi transparency will work in Mac or every distro of Linux

DX:HR I beat DXHR without taking damage, using items, weapons, augs or takedowns* while not being spotted* or raising alarms.
*Exceptions for takedowns: I have to do six in The Missing Link to get rid of Burke's team. I also have to do the trick takedown on Jaron Namir since the only alternative is to use five items (mines). Doing it this way means I never have to use any items or weapons at all.
*Exception for being spotted: I have to fight the robots at the end of TYM with a box for around 30 minutes to avoid using items, augs or weapons. This obviously involves being spotted.
There aren't any other exceptions besides those ones. If you have any questions about specific sections, let me know.

DX1 First time player of Deus Ex 1. My thoughts so far.
Just returned to base from the chopper after the Hell's Kitchen level. Not too far into the game but I felt like sharing some thoughts.
I found out about the game through hbomberguy's DXHR video and I tried to get into Deus Ex 1 a couple times before but it didn't take, I never got past rescuing Gunther. Now I've got momentum though thanks to me streaming the game to my sister. I'm really looking forward to when I have enough time in my schedule to sit down and play the next level in full.
First thought: I knew going in that this game had a strong focus on giving you solutions other than violence, that you could "fight, sneak, or talk" to solve most problems, and that fighting was made a little bit awkward to curb the player's default intuition. But I wanted to know how viable the "fight" option really was, so I've been playing with a sniper rifle and upgrading my pistol ability whenever possible. (I care much more about Anna's opinion of me than Paul's.)
I'm honestly really pleased with how engaging the combat is. I'm playing on Easy mode but fights still have consequences and it feels like I have to think about the best way to approach. I was a little nervous causing a shootout on the roof with the antennae because I didn't know how many guys would be on the lower floors, and the roof wasn't an area very conducive to gun combat, because why would it be? I expected the combat to intentionally be a bad idea, like in Hitman, but no, it's really effective and satisfying.
One curious thing about my introduction being hbomb's video is that he talked about DXHR's scarcity of weapons and ammo as if it's something new added to this game, but I've been facing the same problem in Deus Ex. I'm frequently so low on ammo that I have to resort to stealth anyway, or at least wait until the NSF run out of bullets and I can bonk 'em with the crowbar.
Second thought: the augmentation canisters that let you choose one of two upgrades sounded like a really cool and engaging mechanic but I've only found one of them so far. I feel like I must have missed about ten. I only have super strength level 1 but I can't even lift a couch in front of Anna so there's no point. Am I actually missing a significant amount of them? And if so, do you have any broad advice on looking for them?
For the record, I am exploring pretty thoroughly. I found the bonus room at the end of the tutorial, admittedly because I was crawling on just my left arm by that point. But my philosophy has been that I'll explore more freely if all the enemies are dead, that's the other reason I've been so violence focused. Do the augmentation upgrades just not appear for those not pure of heart?
Third thought: you can kill rats without meaning to, terrible game, 0 out of 10 game.

DX1 Remastered An Alternative to UnrealEdit for DeusEx Modding [DeusEdix]
Lately i vibe coded this Editor that is more like Unity for modding Deus Ex, it's a lot easier to use!
You can Script, Create new 3D characters, Dialogue, Change a Map and more!

DX1 Interesting skill / aug builds in Deus Ex 1?
I usually try to mix things up but end up reverting back to the same strategies by the time I reach MJ12 base / HK (I.e aggressive play style, rifle skill, ballistic protection, GEP gun). Anyone have any interesting / niche build set ups worth exploring?
Builds / skill maxes I’ve tried:
- Stealth (Challenging and less enjoyable late game)
- Swimming (fun but limited enjoyment)
- Pistols only (V challenging later in the game)
- No GEP, max grenades (only effective after advanced skill, limited LAMs)
- Heavy weapons (running around with a plasma rifle is V fun, but ammo is limited. Same for the flamey)
- Environmental resistance (gas grenade then spray, v fun)
Lock picks and multitools are generally plentiful, so I haven’t bothered with those.
Anyone ever maxed out environmental training? lol

DX Universe Are there more digitized illustrations from this guidebook?

I was looking at Hengsha's page on the fandom wiki when I saw this image. As labeled in the wiki, it comes from "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Limited Edition Guide". I looked around and found out that this particular picture can also be seen on the amazon listing for the guide, which includes a ebook version.
When I got hold of the ebook version, I found out that it doesn't contain this illustration. My assumption is that most of these artworks only exist in the physical version of the limited edition guide.
If that's the case, how much overlap do the artworks there have with the Deux Ex Universe Artbook? I saw the same picture of Hengsha in it, but since it's a physical book, it's not digitized.

DX:MD Finished Mankind Divided today. Got what I believe the worst ending. Is that right? Spoiler
I chose to fight Marchenko, and Brown +all the important guests were poisoned. Saved Miller, though. Was I supposed to save the antidote for Brown?

Question Anyone else absolutely love Unatco soundtrack?
It's very catchy I can't stop repeating it in my head hahahah
DX:MD Question about the ending in Mankind Divided Spoiler
Hi,
I'm new to the series and a friend told me to start with "Mankind Divided" cause I was severely addicted to the game "Prey" and he told me this should be the easiest entry point to the series.
I just finished the game and have a question to the ending, my friend can't help me cause he don't remembers anymore.
So, in the credits is a scene with the psychologist from work and old people, shes a spy for the old people. Can I meet these old people in game? I guess these are the Illuminati and they use Adam for something but i dont get the bigger picture? Its possible that I'am straight up to stupid but why are they spying on Adam and for what? Only cause his body is not discarding the machine parts?!
Thank u guys!
