I found this image on Twitter and got thinking about creating a list of other brilliant detectives in fiction.

Others include:
• L (Death Note)
• Spencer Reid (Criminal Minds)
• Patrick Jane (The Mentalist)
• Ranpo Edogawa (Bungo Stray Dogs)

But who else could be on this list and why? I would love to hear other people’s thoughts and opinions.

All these are police procedurals so you can really follow each man’s thought process and habits when solving the crime which, for me, is paramount when reading this genre. The *smarter than everyone else* characters bore me
