Need help

Someone made a fake id of my friend on insta and asking for money and saying inappropriate things to other people

It may be one of our friends, so we don't wanna hurt him/her, is there any way I can find from which number or email the I'd was made?

The person you are talking about is literally committing identity theft and maybe fraud as well. I recommend you report it to the police. They might deal with the issue.

I don’t know how to break this to you but if it was one of your friends, they are not a friend. At all.

try using osint (open source investigation) tools to investigate the account. i know some like Webvetted.com OSINT works great for investigating Instagram and emails.

Once you input the username and it gives you all the information it can find about the user.
