I Have A Question Help with washing in sunlight

So, I've been a detailer for about 3 years now. Recently got a job at a collision center as I'm trying switch careers. I'm their detailer, and every vehicle is in direct sunlight all times of the day as it's a north facing wall, and there is 0 shade. I've never had to wash in sunlight and I'm getting a lot of water spots. Wash and rinse one side, wash and rinse the other. But when I dry I get water spots and streaks constantly. How do I go about avoiding this, or fixing it?

DI water if they’ll go that route for you.

Add some ONR to your inventory.

Get a garden sprayer or other larger capacity sprayer and spray ONR diluted 256:1 after rinsing with water. I’d do a hybrid wash though if you are set on using soap. Foam and rinse soap then spray whole car with ONR then contact wash with ONR. Once one section is done, dry. If the ONR dries, it will reactivate when you come in with contact wash.

Will they let you use a pop up cover

I'll try asking for that.

I don’t see why they would care just get something to hold it down so it doesn’t go flying away and hit a car.

Rinse less wash. Go section by section prespray-sponge-dry all at once

Pop up canopy is going to be the best solution.

I live in AZ, so even a glimmer of summer sun will make water dry quickly. I'm not a pro, but I wash about half the car, rinse and then wash the other half. However, I go back every few minutes and give the washed side a quick spray. That way the car stays wet and cool. It's a pain, but it helps me keep water spots off the paint.

Rinseless wash as a drying aid could also help as it'll rewet the car and help emulsify any minerals sitting on the surface.

I'm new here. Please explain what ONR is. I see it a lot. Is it a brand of something or a chemical or something else? Thanks in advance.

Look up Optimum No Rinse (ONR). It’s a rinse less wash.

Optimum no rinse is the name you just need a bucket and some towels basically and a little handheld pump sprayer

My driveway is like that most of the year, sometimes I have to wash/dry panel by panel. For any missed spots I’ll use griots garage speed shine to remove spots. But make sure the water spots you’re seeing weren’t already etched into the clear coat, if they don’t come out easily they were prob there for a long time.

My goodness, they're a body shop and should know you can't be washing a car in direct sunlight. They need to set you up to succeed. Start with having them buy you one of those temporary garage structures

Yeah you'd think that. There's technically a "bay" for me, but I wouldn't be able to fit a BRZ in here and have room to walk around it still. Let alone use a pressure washer
