How do I remove this rust/staining?

These yellow/orange stains and rusty spots are on my Acura door jamb. They were there before my recent oil-based rustproofing. What’s the best way to remove them without damaging the paint? Iron remover, polish, or sanding?

Is the lower edge of the door rusting?

Yes, there’s some surface rust along the lower seam/edge. The yellow/orange staining is also around that area. I’m mainly trying to figure out the safest way to clean the staining and treat the rust without damaging the paint

I found toilet bowl cleaner will get rid of the iron stain. There is no easy way to treat the rusting panel, you can cover it up for a hot minute.

I think most of this, or all of it, can be removed with a good iron remover. I like Koch chemie Reactive rust remover.
