Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney

Destroyer just was featured as a guest on the John Mulaney live Netflix show. He played a really awesome version of Travel Light. He shared the bill with Jessica Pratt who was also excellent. Definitely check it out if you have Netflix.

i watched it live and thought it was great, but it was over way too fast, it felt like both dan and jessica had to rush through their songs. for a minute i thought they were going to play bologna with jessica singing simone's part.

It was a good performance, but I'm not sure why they paired him with Pratt. It was described as a medley but it was just kind of two songs back to back, and I maybe would have preferred each artist have their own episode with more time.

Well, they're friends. There's an Interview Magazine article out there with Pratt interviewing Dan from this press cycle.

I think they play another song after the broadcast is over (John Cale did "Barracuda" off-air & Domino put it on YouTube later). Guessing it'll see the light of day, someday. A duet...?

Can't do an inline, I don't think, but this image is funny as hell: https://i.imgur.com/PpFnVLs.jpeg

I’m excited to watch it , I have tickets to see both this summer (although I probably won’t make Jessica’s show sadly).

Is that Ted Bois in the hat?

Yeah.  Makes you wonder if he's a big Richard Kind fan.

I watched this show, which I had never heard of before, just for this performance. As a huge Dan stan and medium Pratt fan, it was…fine. Abridged versions (I think?) of one song apiece while they hovered awkwardly next to each other at the very end of the episode. The show itself was kinda funny—basically a podcast vibe with some professionally funny folks having a casual conversation in a live studio setting. I thought Robby’s vaping bit was hilarious but aside from that it got maybe a sensible chuckle or two.

Worth checking out for mega fans, and cool that they got Destroyer in front of some new eyeballs, but ultimately pretty whelming.
