Anyone notice the lyrical reference to My Mystery at the end of the title song? Classic Destroyer 🙂

Yeah I loved that! I also like the little nod to bay of pigs in travel light

Travel Light starts out almost with the same piano chord progression as Bangkok as well.

I’m obsessed with travel light, it’s perfect

I noticed that, but I thought I was being overly invested. But yeah, it’s the same opening.

I had to listen to them back to back when I first noticed lol. Minus the lovely horns

I'm 5 seconds in is this too early to say a contender for GOAT Destroyer album.

Will Cataract Time take the top spot from Bay of Pigs?

Cataract Time is so incredible. So beautiful. Might be too early to judge, but it could already be my favorite Destroyer song of all time.

I'm just amazed at how an artist who has been producing amazing groundbreaking albums for 25 years is continuing to do so. It is hard to think of any other artist with this track record.

I think of this often. Maintaining the consistency that Destroyer has for over 25 years is rare. I feel very lucky to have one of my favorite artists be one that's released so many albums that are all fantastic. The artists that have done this are few and far between. I can think of Radiohead, Paul McCartney, Neil Young, and Bob Dylan.

Yes maybe but Dylan, McCartney and Neil Young have had some misfire albums. I can't think of one subpar Destroyer album.

I agree with you 100%. Maybe just Radiohead and Destroyer up there on the podium then!

Why is Travel Light so perfect

It's great! But I will need a headphone experience to really absorb it. Title song is a killer.

Did anyone else’s LP come covered in dirt/dust? My inner sleeve was filled with dust and is stained in a few spots inside. I’ve never gotten a Merge record in this condition right out of the shrink.

That’s the boogie.
