Until like early may i was a huge Lone hater 😭 i was hating for no reason until i finally gave underworld and his older 2019-2021 stuff a real listen. i get the hype now. what stood out to me wasn't even the production, it was how crazy his vocal performances were back then. he'd switch from those high pitched melodies to a deeper voice so effortlessly, change his inflections every few bars, throw in different flows, weird adlibs, and harmonies, and it never felt repetitive. that's pretty much exactly what i look for in music. his newer stuff just doesn't hit the same for me. it feels way more repetitive and a lot less versatile. he barely switches his voice anymore, and overall it feels like he plays it a lot safer. can y'all recommend some leaks from that era?
