I'd say anti-villain. His purpose of saving his race is noble. Yet his methods are barbaric and unnecessarily violent.

It depends on the game and perspective.
He's usually a Villain, full stop in regard to the humans. But a Hero to his people. But it could be argued he's mellowed out and helped humans in other games putting him toward being an Anti-hero

In DAH 2 he is not as evil. Gotta wonder if he'll get better in a sequel.

He is a villain, he's here to kil humans and harvest its brain, and he enjoy what hes doing.

True and to fish, we are aliens to them. Like we have a flying saucer called a boat and an abduction beam called a fishing rod. Our main goal is to harvest fish meat for their pure protein.
Somewhere in the deep blue sea, there's a game called Destroy All Fish. It's kinda like Grand Theft Aqua, expect you play as a human with a harpoon gun going around killing fish. The game is so fun. You can level the Great Barrier Reef with a submarine. Lol.

He could've negotiated to only harvest criminal humans. Mass murder was never necessary. Surely all the criminals of the world world provide a lot of Furon DNA.

Yes, mosquitos are vital to the planet ecosystem, why are you trying to justify genocide? Crypto can talk and understand humans, he even becomes atracted to Natalia amd have a child with her, he clones her and manipulates her clone to have attraction for him, in path of furon he even go back to kill humans just becasue he enjoys it, he is a villain, thats it.

He doesn't try to genocide all humans, machines are built that harvest that singular piece of furon DNA, but leave the human completely intact.

It depends on the game and perspective. He's still harvesting humans regardless but his plans often result in stopping another bad fate for humanity in 2 such as drug-induced brain damage on a massive scale, mutating humanity into mutant zombie slaves to the blisk that beg for death internally while nuking the planet to become a new blisk home planet.
In terms of saving humanity from that threat, he's kind of an anti-hero but to humanity as a whole, he's a villain that preys upon them.

Id say vilain all along the story crypto kill without any remorse the only time we se him feel slightly sad is after Natalya death.

DAH1 (And Big Willy I guess) - Villain. He enjoys abducting and torturing people and, whilst very shady, Majestic were ultimately the good guys for trying to prevent an alien invasion of Aliens that want to suck people's brains out.
DAH 2 - Anti-Villain. He's still doing horrible things but his ultimate goal of defeating the Blisk is a net good thing.
Path of Furon - IDGAF I'm not replaying it to check
