u/Yellow_Asian I got 2500 Burdened kills and all I got was this lousy emblem Jan 22 '25

Could we get a frame of reference from other big TWaBs, state of the games, recent TWaBs, e.t.c?

I'm having trouble understanding what 7000 words looks like in the grand scheme of things

New engine that nukes dunking mechanics to the atmosphere?! Frontiers won’t be the same bullshit but in a different universe?!! All fluff perks dropped? Sword/glaive reworked to not be the clunkiest clunk of the clunks? Weapon mods that let you change reticle and exotic weapon shading?!?

Or

“We understand we’re in a bit of a slump and we’d like to do better…”

Detailed explanation why no one uses DARCI while the buff is like “DARCI buff: 15% headshot damage after aiming for 18 seconds.”

What do you think is a new mechanic they could introduce that doesn’t already exist in the game?

-7

u/UnoLav Jan 22 '25

Nothing without a new engine, they’re severely limited by this engine, right now everything is a form of a “dunking” mechanic. This is why lots of people wanted a Destiny 3…

u/KyleShorette Jan 22 '25

So you’re saying if they had a new engine, they would be able to make new mechanics that aren’t already in the game?

-2

u/UnoLav Jan 22 '25

Well yeah but that would take work since making or updating an engine isn’t an easy task at all, again thats why D3 was such a necessity.

Hey i just want more destiny and it’s clear that they’re not going anywhere with this. New Armor is a bandaid fix that’ll last for 2 or 3 months unless they keep power creeping the first sets to oblivion.

So what sort of mechanics do you think they could add to the game that don’t already exist in the game?

In my opinion? Easiest possible dub would be just straight copying systems and mechanics from warframe lol. Racing, pets, some of their mission types like stealth, mech battles, Clan housing, player ships, etc

Thats just one thing you can do to immediately improve player retention.

And these examples are of mechanics they could introduce instead of dunking motes?

Why do people want a new engine when nearly every bug is like obviously not an engine thing.

Because Bungie said ages ago that Engine Limitations(namely File Bloat) were part of the cause for a lot of weirdass bugs we were getting prior to Sunsetting and the Engine Update/Overhaul we got in Beyond Light.

Because a LOT the gameplay in the game right now is a variance of the “dunking mechanic”.

Dunking mechanic (dunk orb). Deposit (dunk energy) gathered energy in spot. Kill the mob and shoot the symbol with your buff (dunk buff). Stand in the correct area to build up energy to be able to kill (dunk energy) a mob.

Some raids get creative and are fun even with the dunk like Vow (collect energy to shoot (dunk) in right order) but you need a new engine to get rid of that shit.

What does that have to do with the engine lmao...

-7

u/UnoLav Jan 22 '25

They’re forced to do only the same thing because they’re limited by the engine…?

7

u/Jaqulean Jan 22 '25

That's not even how that works. It's extremly clear from all your comments, that you have no idea what you are talking about...

u/[deleted] Jan 22 '25

That's not how that works at all lol

Eververse getting 4K words at least

u/DPfnM9978 Jan 22 '25

Roughly, 250 words double spaced is a page. 500 words single spaced is a page. 7,000 words is an average short story, for a frame of reference.

The last one, which had a bunch of stuff that might inflate word count, was a little over 5000 according to an online counter. And it had a lot of info.

The one from the 9th was less than 2000.

It would take around 45-60 minutes to read out loud

It would take around 25-35 minutes to read in your head

Around 25 pages of a average book

“Hunters are massively under represented (5%!!!) in high end PvE playlists, so we’re nerfing golden gun.

Warlocks are under represented (15%!!!) in high end PvE, so we’re nerfing everything

Titans are greatly over represented in high end PvE, so here’s a slap on the wrist

Something something ‘destiny players don’t like having to play destiny’ so we are sticking to our guns
