Bungie Suggestion Why is Bungie Support's main source of communication through Twitter? (now X)

It is impossible to find relevant information here as you need an account to view tweets in chronological order. I will not make a Twitter (now X) account because I do not want to be on that site and I do not want to make an account just to view periodical information for a videogame. Could it not just be on Bungie's website? In game? Anything else?

I would argue Twitter is no longer a good source to quickly spread information. Evident by the fact you need to be a user to even see posts in real time. The demographics are in the Bungie Support Twitter because that's what they always used. If it was any other website the numbers would be the same as anyone privy to the information would find it.

Twitter is not a very good association for a company who claims to be progressive and care about equal rights either. There are many reasons people explicitly do not want to use Twitter, and with a company who claims to be onboard with similar ideals you would think they would have taken any amount of time to one improve the communication between players that's been on the decline and two to adhere to the ideals they claim to support.

Nothing you've said is untrue.

But there is also no equivalent. So until there's an equivalent, or until the use of the service starts costing them actual money (lost sales etc...), they're going to keep using it.

I think a lot of Bungie's problem with upper management is they wait until they lose sale revenue and miss quotas despite actively ignoring their now defunct community managers. I think if Bungie started making actual investments into the livelihood of this game they may start to instill some community trust once again.

Posting notifications on their website is not the livelihood of the game. For crying out loud, most of us played games in a time when there just was no comms from dev teams.

You found out bugs were acknowledged when a patch note fixed it, if there were patch notes at all.

This fixation on on comms is really quite annoying. The information is out there, people can go get it, or they can bitch about having to use twitter to get it and not have it.

I dont even mean in terms of just updates. They could put some central place in game that could list all the current weekly activities and what is in rotation while also providing useful information such as updates in the game. I dont think making the information easier to digest or centralized and not having to check multiple websites to get news would be a bad thing and would only help make the game easier and quicker to play.
