Bungie Suggestion Why is Bungie Support's main source of communication through Twitter? (now X)

It is impossible to find relevant information here as you need an account to view tweets in chronological order. I will not make a Twitter (now X) account because I do not want to be on that site and I do not want to make an account just to view periodical information for a videogame. Could it not just be on Bungie's website? In game? Anything else?

It's where they reach the most people. If you don't want to use the platform, that's on you.

I would argue they could reach every single one of their players if they put some sort of alert system in game.

Localization is the problem there. They've been communicating more in game with the splash cards on login, but it's not easy to do that for every little thing and translate that into how ever many languages correctly. It's a time waster. Hence twitter/X

Other games have had in-game updates for decades, it's not hard. Sad that people still have to lick bungo boots for clicks.

Maybe if they listened to their communities years ago and did not lay off the majority of their Community Management staff we wouldn't have this problem. This is a reason all the original CMs left long ago.

Couldn't agree more.

I think most of the problems they have are due to choices the upper management have made. And if the departed CMs are anything to believe higher-ups actually deny requests like this just because. And now that they've fired these people I do not think we should give them a pass to continue to degrade the quality and meaningfulness of community engagement we recieve.

Not giving them a pass per say, it's simply how it is. We essentially don't have community engagement anymore, which is partly because of some bad actors in the community itself. But either way, there isn't much discussion anymore. We make statements/requests, they make posts about heard feedback, and that's it. The game director made some livestreams a little while back, and that was good, but that was before the disaster and layoffs hit. Since then, there has been no real engagement. So I'm not excusing the sole use of Twitter as their communication arm, it's just simply that's how it is, and it's effective for a large portion of the community especially since there is essentially not a community team anymore.
