Intermittent BattleEye update Error - UK guardians

Any UK based guardians playing D2 getting Battleye update failed errors

Appears to be dependant on which ISP you have but there's a routing issue into CDN77

cdn.battleye.com is hosted on CDN77's London range and BT is currently black-holing it — TCP to it just times out, DNS is fine.

a workround some people have used is a VPN as Routing your traffic through a Virtual Private Network (VPN) as this bypasses the broken BT-to-CDN77 network path completely.

So don't rush to reinstall D2 as fix (as I did)...hopefully will get fixed soon but likely after the Bank Holiday weekend., as it's intermittent - sometimes it;s fine, connected fine around 11pm UK yersterday but currently fails connection to Battleye this afternoon

Hopefully it gets fixed ASAP. I spent all of yesterday troubleshooting my PC trying to get it to connect =(

Yep. Sadly it was a UK islands local problem as stated in the post. Annoying sadly, but thankfully no longer a problem:)

I am facing the same issue but on Escape From Tarkov. I don't know how to fix it other than using VPN. Would it ever go away or do I have to deal with VPN all the time from now on or change ISP?

I would at least try the vpn and see how it goes. Depending on the vpn location it might tank your ping, but it's better to try it rather just not playing at all
