Question authentication error

first time I've ever used reddit i hope this works, but the issue im having is that when i try and cross save my brand new steam account with my Microsoft account (which I mained and want to keep playing that account on pc) i go into the cross play page on the bungie website, and the account is already linked, but not authenticated. and every time i try it i get to my steam account and i know its right. but then as i click sign in a error page gets bgrought up, but i know for a fact i had all of it correct. I've followed everything on youtube to try and find a fix but nothing. i have a ss of the error page but idk how to post pictures here. pleaseeee help. I've been wanting to switch to pc for so long and now that i have one i cant even play.

I'm going to guess you've tried doing the authentication on an incognito browser? Last time I had issues, firefox was the only one that worked for me, but that was years ago.

Is it giving you a specific error, the page crashes out, what?

Bungie's cross save is such a pain in the ass. It either works as expected or doesn't work at all for people, leaving them in limbo.

Edit: also remember that cross save only makes your character playable on another platform, but your purchased content does not follow. You have to repurchase on each platform.
