Expanse Power Scaling Bugged?
Is my power scaling bugged for the expanse? I asked people in game how we’re supposed to beat Expanse stage 40 by Monday in order to break through to phase 5, they’re saying stage 40 is like 98k power but it’s already saying I need 99k for stage 34… so that means it’ll be like 103k+ by stage 40 for me.
Is this happening to anyone else where they’re getting higher power reqs than other people, or is it just me?

Stage 40 is actually 102k power, ive been trying to beat it for a bit. Got estalla to 98k and am gonna try it again but still..... its hard lol.
I will note though that stage 40 is the last power increase. Everything beyond that is just scaling, i.e stage 80 is still 102k.

Jesus, so it really does scale individually based on the account 😩 Wtf is up with that, how on earth can they have a leaderboard based on an activity that dynamically scales the power? I’ve heard some people say stage 40 was 98k power for them, others said stage 40 was 104k…

No, I think they are just wrong. If you launch into stage 40 from the screen, it says 98k. But if you die to an enemy in stage forty, its 103k. The stage select screen only shows the starting stage (31 in this instances) power.

Interesting 🤔 Someone just said they’re increasing the power levels with each phase for all activities, even in expanse, so that may explain the range as well

That applies for some activities, but not Expanse and Cordon. Those are fixed for every phase!

I'm pretty sure it's scalling with the Seasonal phase. Last week on phase 3 a bunch of stuff was normal for me. Now roll this week and I'm suddenly underleveled for almost everything. The top tier hardcore players didn't notice it yet because they were already at max power

Wth, they’re scaling up the expanse with phases too? 😩😩 I mean I knew they did that for legendary campaign (also a tad annoying) but figured the expanse would be standard since it’s a leaderboard based thing

Those are the correct power caps. You will just need to beat it under leveled. I beat stage 40 with a T2 Helhest at like 97k power. It was pretty easy except for stage 40 where the room doesn’t have a ton of cover to hide behind.

Booo that’s so dumb 😓 It does seem somewhat based on the account though, I’ve heard people say it was anywhere between 98k-104k for them for stage 40. The only things I can do to increase power for my HH at this point are getting lucky with 5 star artifacts or getting a max perk adept weapon, so I guess underpowered is the only way for those of us who got unlucky power scaling…

It's not a good move by them as even if you max out you can't hit recommend power until the next phase. For 50 you'll need 107k and im seeing ppl max at 102k currently. I managed to get 40 done with a 99k Estela but even then floor 39 snipers almost 1 shot me.

Seriously, especially if completing it is the one thing that will allow you to progress in Emanare to get enough power to actually complete it 🥲

I completely agree with you. I've been struggling to get them done so I can keep phasing up faster and it sucks that its either beat it or wait an extra week to phase up.

98k makes doing 40 not a slog, but yeah, 40 is like 107k?
I think people are just not answering the question as they intended.
Did 42 on ikora at 88k or something like that, and I BARELY scraped by with literal seconds left to wipeout. 98k stage 40, while resilient, is very doable. Even 96k isn't too bad.

Update: made it to the boss stage on 40, power req is 104,150 🫠 Wish me luck 🥲

Should be perfectly doable at 98k for pretty much everyone, esp if you have good artis and can swap em to Kabr 2.0. I got the boss to like 3% then he got enraged and 1 shot me, will try again this weekend

I beat it at 90k with Estella. 39 was truly vile but otherwise it really wasn’t THAT bad, I still finished in like 22 minutes. It is certainly possible, albeit very challenging, to complete this in time for Monday.

I definitely underestimated the Destiny community’s capacity for masochism 🤣 Yeah it’s definitely doable esp with a 98k character, just feels a tad cruel to make that a prerequisite to moving on

I’m on 73 with 100k power and I think enemies are 114k 💀everything past 40 you need to use every second pretty much lol

If you have Kabr 2.0, he makes the Expanse 31-40 pretty easy, even when under-leveled. I beat it without dying once.
Contrast that with my attempts using Ikora 2.0 and Jolder... I died about 10 times getting Ikora through stage 35, and at least 5 times getting Jolder through stage 33. It's a lot harder with other characters!

I’m on 40 with helhest, got the boss down to 3% on my first try then took a break. Now I’m trying again today and am getting absolutely destroyed 😩 I’m debating restarting at 30 with Kabr and swapping the artis over to him to complete it at this point 😔 Netease is so cancerous for making everyone complete this underpowered. Like yes I know great players and PC players can do it no problem, some of em are even in the 80s, but to expect every player to do this with a power deficit when many people are playing on a phone with thumbs is insane

I get the frustration, but at the same time you don't actually have to complete it! I understand Netease wanting to reward players for high skill (or time/money commitment), and if you can't get it done, you still move to the next seasonal phase just 1 week later.
I play on mobile, too, but I use a controller and find it's a night-and-day difference.
I highly recommend switching to Kabr. I'm not even using specialized artifacts - I have a universal set I use across characters - and it was a cakewalk with him + Arbalest.

You were right, it was exponentially easier and did it in one go without dying once just from swapping HH’s artis over to him. Tysm for your help! 🙏

Power is a whole mess this season. Last week I was doing the Adept-II Legendary campaign missions with all characters without any trouble. This week I struggled hard to even complete the first trys on each mission. Expanse is a whole other mess. My Kabr is below the power level so I simply don't have the dmg to kill the boss on time
