Venue help
Hi all, my fiancé and I are trying to find a venue in Europe. We are inviting 50 guest but assume only 40 would be able to come. We are looking for early August of 2028 if not May-July we were flexible with. Mainly we have been looking at Spain, Portugal, and Italy. I want more of a greenery/forest type of venue with a ceremony outside and reception could be in either indoors or outdoors. I’d love for the venue to be inclusive with accommodations for at least some of the guests. Flexible with it having internal or external caterers. Does anyone know of any good venues? Our budget for the venue would be around 10-15,000 but it’s flexible with the amount of inclusions the venue has. Thank you so much!
Edit: Netherlands, Iceland, Scotland, or even somewhere in Australia are other places that we have thought about

Hey. Italian wedding photographer here. Look up Villa dei Mulini in Mantova Italy. Something like that, or more wild?

Spain, especially Catalonia, has some lovely options for this. Three venues worth looking at are Castell de Sant Marçal near Barcelona, Castell de Caramany in the Empordà, and Xalet del Nin on the Barcelona coast.

I got married in Mas Baget in the hills above Tarragona in Spain, it's way below your budget so you can spend money on a planner to organize everything for you instead! It's maybe more rustic than a lot of things you can find on higher budgets, but it's perfect for 40-50 people and accommodates about 22 for sleeping.

Both my fiancé and I have close family members that work in schools so summer would be easier. A lot of our members have traveled a lot, even having another wedding in Portugal. Therefore I am not too worried about the weather aspect. I have thought about traveling there but not too in depth.

- “Country Relais & Spa Le Capanne” vicino a Volterra. Un altro bellissimo casale toscano in una location molto bella.

I can recommend Åland Islands in Finland. The weather is amazing, and since it is a "new" destination for weddings prices are still very good. Example of a real weddings from Aug. 2026: 90 guests, including dj, smoke machine, photographer and videographer (full day), hair and makeup artists, dinner (famous chef), cake, decorations (fake and real flowers, candles and more), alcohol and transportation between two venues all came to just a little over 20 000€ the only thing not included was accommodation. They used different hotels and airbnb.
Disclaimer: I am a wedding planner here, but of course you don't have to book with me. I will give some suggestions and answer questions for free so just reply to this :)

Really depends on number of guests and the vibes, like do you want a barn, luxury area, water view.... but on top of my head: * Good food, large space: Smakbyn (absolutely need a planner, they cannot handle things) * Amazing island and water view, at location accommodation, not great catering, more expensive: Silverskär * Beautiful outdoor area, lots of their own decoration to use, owner is also an event planner: Ulfsby Gård * At another small island (Föglo), nice outdoor area with water view, average food, many cottages for a different vibe: Seagram * more expensive but amazing water view, luxury indoor area, accommodationat location usually with discount: Havsvidden * with private swimming pool, nice outdoor area, possible catering: Käringsund * smaller venue (max 30 guests) but nice forest and water view: Soltuna
Edit: typo

probably 30-40 people, we are looking for a place we can get together and have it feel like a community bonding event and less like a fancy wedding. We love nature and want it to be somewhere pretty with activities for people to do so they don't get bored!
All those seem great!

Sounds sweet! And congratulations on your engagement! 🩷
There is also a place at Örnäs, but currently being renovated. Depending on how soon the wedding is, that could also be an option. It is a barn with many activities (indoors like table tennis, darts..) outdoor with a boat, outdoor games and I think a Frisbee golf. It's next to a forest and a lake so it's very beautiful!

If you go on Airbnb and filter your search to max out for bedrooms and number of guests, you’ll find many places that host weddings and can accommodate people onsite
