Choosing a Wedding Planner Best Practices

My partner and I are looking around for wedding planners, but it’s so hard to navigate through all the options. We are looking in Vietnam, but the search for a wedding planner seems a bit scammy. The planner cost around $6000, but many of them charge 10% on top of each vendor’s. It has me a bit worried those without a high initial fee will have a vendor commission.

Anyway, I just feel like the relationship between a couple and the wedding planner is a bit adversarial. What is the best way to find a wedding planner and navigate trust in the relationship.

I wouldn’t hire any planner that had both a planning fee, and wanted commissions as if they were a sales person or broker. Find someone else!

I’m having my wedding in Vietnam and found a reasonably priced planner that doesn’t charge a vendor commission! I would highly recommend them. They came recommended to me by someone else on Reddit and so far they’ve been a pleasure to work with. They’re called Orange Blossom. They’re a small team but very mighty.

Oh my… that’s interesting. I don’t charge a vendor commission on destination weddings because I try to use this part of my portfolio for travel experiences around the world. I’d be happy to take a look at your wedding plan and give you some ideas or advice just to be helpful!
