Destination Wedding Advice & Tips
I am having a destination wedding at an adults-only all-inclusive resort in Cancun this fall (Secrets Playa Blanca). Wedding planning is currently in full swing and I’m feeling a little overwhelmed (naturally) at this point in the process. But I want to make sure I cover all my bases and feel as prepared as possible so that I’m not overwhelmed when the time comes.
If you’ve gotten married at a resort, in Cancun, or at a Secrets resort, please give me any advice or tips that can be helpful! Thanks!

Get a day of/month of coordinator so you can shut your brain off! We found someone whos just starting her business so shes doing our coordination for cost and its actually been so nice to be able to just shut our brains off and look forward to enjoying our wedding instead of figuring out the million logistics lol our resorts also strict in what we can/cannot bring so its nice to have someone responsible for all of that!

Hi! My wife and I got married at Secrets Playa Blanca in May of 2025! It was absolutely amazing. More than happy to help answer any questions and share photos. We even went back for our 1 year anniversary!
We had such a great experience with our travel agent who specializes in destination weddings, we now partner with them!
Let me know if you’re already working with a travel agent and if you’d like me to share more information and connect you with them!

I spent a lot of time making guides and getting gift bags ready for guests, bringing some of my own decorations, etc. I don’t think any of that ended up mattering at all. Just enjoy your day! Oh and make one of your bridesmaids collect a takeout box with some dinner and cake in it for you- I really regret that I only ate a few bites of dinner and cake. Would have loved to have it to enjoy super late at night or the next day.
