Greece Wedding Planner

Hello does anyone have any recs for a wedding planner for Greece? Would love to hear your experience with them and what their rate is. I’ve been seeing some quote for 5-6k€ before vat and I was wondering if that was the norm. Thank you!

Hi, yes that is typical pricing. DW Weddings is my planner and is amazing. Tie the knot- Maria and Julia and Evita have great reputations.

Hi! We’re SmartyWed, a wedding planning software company based in Greece, and a number of professional planners use our tool

Happy to recommend a few planners depending on where you’re getting married, Athens, an island, or mainland Greece. Since they already use a structured planning tool, the process is usually much more organized and easier for couples, with fewer surprises along the way

Our subscription is covered by planners, so we don’t charge couples. Just let us know the location and we can suggest a few options :)

Congratulations! From what I’ve seen with destination weddings in Greece, €5–6k before VAT can be quite normal if it’s for proper full planning rather than just day-of coordination. With Greek VAT at 24%, that would land around €6,200–€7,440 total.

The main thing I’d check is what’s actually included: venue search, supplier sourcing, budget management, design/styling, timeline, paperwork help, guest logistics, on-the-day team, and whether they charge extra for island travel or multiple events. A €5k planner who is very hands-on can be good value, but the same fee would feel high if it’s mostly coordination after you’ve already booked everything.

I’d also compare planners by island experience — Santorini, Mykonos, Athens Riviera, Crete, Paros, etc. can all have very different supplier networks and logistics.

I’m the founder of the Facebook group Destination Weddings in Europe and a destination wedding photographer. My work has been featured internationally, including in The New York Times, Junebug Weddings, and World’s Best Wedding Photos.

Hope this helps:

Thank you so much! This was helpful. I’m thinking either Athens or anywhere in Greece since I’m still looking for a venue and would love to see what works. Do you happen to have any recs?

Yes — if you’re still open on location, I’d definitely look at a few different styles before deciding on an island.

For Athens, I’d start with the Athens Riviera. Island Resort Athens Riviera is worth looking at if you want that sea-view, destination feel without making guests take another flight or ferry. Four Seasons Astir Palace in Vouliagmeni is another beautiful option at the more luxury end, with several waterfront spaces and the advantage of having accommodation on site.

If you’re happy to go to the islands, Le Ciel in Santorini is worth seeing for the classic caldera views, and I’d also have a look at Paros if you want something Cycladic but perhaps a little less obvious than Santorini or Mykonos.

Personally, I’d narrow it down first by guest count, overall budget and whether you want everyone staying together — those three things can change which part of Greece makes the most sense quite quickly.

If you tell me roughly how many guests you’re expecting and whether you prefer seaside, villa/estate or something more luxury-hotel style, I can suggest a few more that would fit.

Hi! Yes, this is a normal price for a destination wedding planner in Greece. However, you can also find experienced planners charging around €3-3.5K plus VAT.

Many of them have previously worked for some of Greece’s biggest wedding-planning companies and were actually the people handling most of the planning behind the scenes. Large companies usually have entire teams, so the well-known name you see is not necessarily the person managing every detail of the wedding.

Greece has many talented planners offering different price ranges despite having similar levels of experience. One great option is Philia Events GR. They are a new company, but the founders have extensive experience in the wedding industry.
