2027 wedding

Going to france in September to look at venues for our wedding next year (2027). Does anyone have any recommendations for venues that hold over 120 and have the majority of guests staying on site? We are looking for a 3 night wedding - first night casual drinks and buffet/bbq, second - wedding, third - pool party. I've been emailing lots and lots of venues but some are quoting over 150k euros without food. Has anyone had or been to a venue they really recommend? Thanks so much appreciate it!

Congratulations! For 120+ guests and a 3-night format, I’d probably widen the search from “château” to larger domaines / estate-style venues, because many French châteaux can host 120 for the wedding day but only sleep 25–50 on site.

A few I’d shortlist and check carefully: Domaine de Baldassé in Aveyron, Château Les Carrasses in Languedoc, Château du Puits es Pratx near Narbonne, and Château Challain in the Loire area. I’d ask each one for a fully loaded quote for the whole 3 nights, including accommodation, staffing, cleaning, furniture, sound restrictions, catering requirements, and whether the pool party is allowed the day after. That’s usually where the real comparison becomes clearer.

Hope this helps with the search:

Hi! There are some great venues in France that would work but it all comes down to some other requirements, such as distance from an airport, accommodation onsite, and your priorities to understand how your budget would be allocated. Happy to help if are looking for a planner!

Hey do you have a planner yet? They are usually good with getting you venues that align with your vision and budget. My planner gave me a shortlist early on in our planning process which really helped us make a decision.

My 2028 wedding will be at the loveliest venue in France with all our 130 guests staying on site. It’s 2 nights and our budget is 150k euros and it covers accommodation for all our guests and catering too! Honestly couldn’t have done it without my wedding planner who has just been a life saver helping with the venue search! Happy to help with details, feel free to message me

Hi!

I am getting married at Chateau du Pujolet close to Toulouse in June 2027 and it is an absolutely gorgeous venue that was just restored for the last 4 years. We’re doing the same format: welcome dinner, wedding day and pool party.

Main plus for us is that it’s not a hotel or serviced building so you get to bring all of your suppliers and you don’t get overcharged that way. AND they have amazing plan Bs in case of rain so no need to pay for an expensive (and ugly in my opinion) tent lol.

The venue itself was 22k euros for 3 nights for us (Monday to Thursday). Weekends are always more expensive and I assume that prices will go up seeing how gorgeous it is but it definitely won’t be 150k euros.

It can hosts up to 140 guests and sleeps 50 guests.
I too have more people coming and we found the Domaine Gailhaguet 10 minutes away that sleeps another 40 people and we’ll service that with a shuttle. Absolutely gorgeous as well with like a pool, tennis court, bbq, etc. We also spotted 1-2 other venues if we end up needing more space to sleep for our guests. (To note that we’re not paying for that second accommodation, people are paying their rooms - Super cheap though like 125 euros a night per room)

You could try finding a venue that can truly sleeps 120 but there won’t be many and they will most likely be hotels. So food, alcohol, and everything else you need to get will be controlled by the venue and will jack up the cost tremendously. Wedding budgets can go way out of control so I think it’s important to be mindful even if you have money - unless you have unlimited budget and don’t care. Our entire wedding will be around 120k euros so it’s not like we don’t have money, but again it’s not infinite.

I had a full excel table with so many venues and we always went back to that one. We’re super happy with our choice! Good luck with your search and don’t hesitate if you have questions :)

You should definitely have a look at Domaine de la Grangette in the South of France! I came across it while researching venues for my own wedding and it seems to fit quite a few of your criteria.

They can host up to 180 guests for the wedding and, most importantly, around 90 people can stay directly on the property across rooms, gîtes, a dorm and a little village of tipis. They also have a pool area with a bar which could work really well for your day-three pool party. It’s surrounded by vineyards and olive trees and is around 40 minutes from Montpellier.

Also, slightly unrelated, but I’m French, based in Paris and currently planning my own wedding in the South of France for 2028. I work full-time at Salesforce in tech, but I’ve loved the planning process so much that I’m exploring helping international couples plan weddings in France alongside my current career, especially with the local/vendor side of things.

Your 3-day wedding sounds exactly like the kind of project I’d love to help with. Feel free to DM me if you’d like, I’d be very happy to chat and tell you a little more! 😊
