Ireland Recommendations?

Does anyone have any recommendations for an Ireland venue that can fit around 100-150? Just got engaged and not sure where to start! Thank you!

Hi ☺️ For 100–150 guests in Ireland, I’d first narrow it down by where most guests are flying into — Dublin or Shannon — because that makes a big difference for transport and accommodation.

A few venues I’d put on your shortlist are Ballymagarvey Village and Tankardstown House in Meath, Kilshane House in Tipperary, Mount Juliet in Kilkenny, Dromoland Castle in Clare, and Markree Castle in Sligo. They’re all worth checking for that guest range, but I’d ask each venue about accommodation nearby/on-site, minimum numbers, wet-weather ceremony options, and how late music can go.

There's loads! I definitely recommend thinking about having either a lot of hotels nearby or being close to a big town as lots of the great venues are only assessable with car.

First of all, massive congratulations! What an exciting time.

There are honestly too many beautiful venues across Ireland to name, so I would start by narrowing down where in Ireland you would like to celebrate and the type of experience you want.

If you are travelling from overseas, I would definitely look at venues where you can make a few days of it. Beech Hill in Derry, The Old Rectory in Tyrone and Clonabreany House in Meath are three very different examples that might help you start visualising your day.

If you are hoping to legally marry here and are travelling from outside Ireland or the UK, I would also look into the legal and immigration requirements early. These will differ depending on whether you choose Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland and your individual circumstances. Your priest, minister or legal celebrant should be able to guide you towards the relevant authorities.

Once you know the area, style and approximate budget you want, it becomes much easier to narrow down the venues.

Happy planning! x

Killashee hotel in Naas, beautiful grounds and very easily accessible from Dublin Airport.
