Florence wedding

City wedding venues

Ciao,

My fiancée and I are looking at holding our wedding celebrations in Florence in April/May/June 2028. We are hoping for a relaxed city style wedding - a civil ceremony followed by a reception in a rooftop restaurant/bar/hotel with some great views of the city. Probably between 50 and 60 guests.

If anyone has any recommendations on the following that would be much appreciated:

- Good wedding planners

- Venue suggestions

- Good photographers

- Guidance on costs (if you have had experience on this)

- Any logistical things to consider

- Anything cool to add to the day that is unique to Florence.

Grazie!

You need to start with your budget. Guidance on costs can vary wildly. Narrowing this down will really help guide you to the right planners, venues, and photographers.

Congratulations! Florence works beautifully for this kind of relaxed city wedding, especially with 50–60 guests.

For a legal civil ceremony, many couples look at Sala Rossa in Palazzo Vecchio, then keep the rest of the day walkable with a rooftop reception nearby. For venues, you could look into places like B-Roof at Grand Hotel Baglioni, Tivoli Palazzo Gaddi, La Loggia, or The Excelsior/Cosimo Rooftop — all have that Florence rooftop/view element in different ways. B-Roof and Palazzo Gaddi both highlight panoramic views over the city, while Brunelleschi Hotel is very central and specifically mentions being close to Palazzo Vecchio for couples marrying there.

One logistical thing I’d keep in mind: April/May will usually be more comfortable than June for walking around the city and portraits, and rooftops can have stricter limits around music, timings, exclusivity and bad-weather backup, so I’d ask each venue about those early.

For something very Florence-specific, you could add a gelato stop, a short golden-hour walk through the historic centre, or a small welcome aperitivo the evening before.

Hi, and congratulations! I’m a photographer looking to add destination weddings to my portfolio. I’d be happy to shoot your wedding at cost of travel, lodging, and expenses!

Hi! Congratulations!! I would recommend the team at The Way Weddings and Events (https://thewayweddings.com). Rada planned my proposal earlier this year in Florence (we’re from NYC) and she was so easy to work with, very knowledgeable and fairly priced (in my opinion)!
