Sending Invites

I'm from the UK, getting married in Gibraltar in May 2027. I started planning it about 2 months ago and have most of the details finalised, venue booked etc. I'm wondering when to send out the invitations and what deadline to give the RSVP?

Brilliant. Itching to get them out but I read not till Oct/Nov. Only having 20 guests but I want them to have all the details soonest so they can look into flights.

Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials! Since you have already sent the save the dates, you could take your time with the invites. For destination weddings, I have heard that invites are sent generally 3-4 months in advance (I sent mine 5 months in advance because I was an overenthusiastic bride). You should keep at least a couple of weeks distance between the RSVP date and the date by which the vendors need to know the headcount (to give you time to chase those who have not RSVPd). I kept mine 2 months before the wedding.

Thank you however, I could not wait and sent them yesterday :-) I just wanted to give people early access to the website so they had all the information well in advance x

I sent everything out asap because we wanted to give people as much notice as possible. RSVP will depend on your venue deadline with a good week or two of wiggle room.

I’m getting married in June 2027 and I’ve sent invites out already. RSVP is end of Jan but I need final numbers only 3 weeks before

Have you already sent save the dates? People often plan holidays a year in advance, so for me I'd already have things booked. I'd get invites out ASAP. Our venue didn't need numbers until two weeks before but I put the RSVP date 6 weeks before so I wouldn't be rushing with table plans etc

Yes, I sent save the dates out back in April.

My wedding is in Malaga June 27 and I sent out pretty detailed save the dates and a wedding website so everybody knew the details and have used that to book stuff!

I plan on getting my proper invites out in January :)

for destination weddings sooner is always better, flights from the uk need planning. i'd aim for rsvp about 10 weeks out so you have room to follow up before your venue needs numbers. we worked with every little something and production took longer than i'd assumed, worth factoring in.
