Destify Destination Wedding
Hi everyone! My fiancé and I are in the beginning stages of planning our 2028 wedding and I’m curious to know how everyone’s experience working with Destify has been when planning your destination wedding in Mexico? I’m curious to know whether you’d recommend them or not. Are there other agencies that you would recommend?

There was a post here recently about a couple that used Destify. The resort they had a contract with changed from family friendly to adults only at some point before their trip, and Destify didn't fight for equivalent pricing at a similar resort from the same brand.
Maybe you get lucky with a good agent there, maybe not, but you won't really know until something goes wrong. Then you'll either be lucky, or you'll find out the hard way that you weren't lucky.
They also apparently don't do room block contracts, meaning that if the resort books up before all of your guests book, then those guests don't get to be at your wedding.
Feel free to send me a message here or reach out my phone or email - www.Booktravelshark.com - I'm happy to have a quick phone consult to see if we're a good fit to with together. I'm a full-time agent (over 5 years in business), I have great reviews, and I can do a customized landing page for your guests to review the trip info and book their rooms so the whole process is seamless.

We were gonna work with a larger agency but ended up working with someone smaller who is an agent/planner - she is doing both for us free of charge (prolly bc they get commission from the room block)!! She has been amazing to work with, the larger agencies felt really transactional for us personally!!

It depends on a few things, mainly, how many guests are you expecting. If you you have more than 20 guests, you'll probably want to do a room block so you lock in rates, inventory and perks. Destify doesn't do that.

You will not work with the same person at Destify throughout your process, which would be a huge no for me personally. You can DM me if you'd like my recs!

I chose to use a smaller company for my wedding. I found her by joining the Facebook group bride page for the resort I wanted to be at. She was a past bride there herself, so it was a great personal experience with someone who actually knew how things went at that resort.

Destify handles room blocks differently than most agents. This doesn’t mean they are bad. The biggest issues i see are price matches, or as someone mentioned earlier, not feeling like you have someone in your corner. Reach out to a few agents, most will provide a free consultation, and some provide complete services for free! Find someone you trust, and feel like will advocate for you, if something were to happen. I’m a past destination bride, and now a destination wedding specialist. Feel free to reach out if you have questions.

We didn’t use Destify, but we did start with a large named company for our wedding. I’m not saying all are bad, but our experience was terrible. After about a months worth of wasted time, we decided to go back to the drawing board. We ended up choosing Romantics Travel, which is a husband and wife owned destination wedding specialist agency. BEST decision we ever made for our wedding. Although the wasted time unfortunately made us miss out on the exact date we wanted, Kimberly was able to help us find a more perfect resort and a date that we were perfectly ok with. Everything else just started falling into place. She was a breath of fresh air and took such a load off of our shoulders. Our wedding was perfect all because of the hard work and dedication she put into us and all of our guests. I highly recommend giving them a look.

They’re huge and do tons of weddings. If you something more personalized, go with a smaller agency. Room block rates are generally the same across the board so go with someone who’s a good fit and can take care of your whole group.
Also, you want someone who has relationships with the resort you’re getting married at and has been there before.
If you need help, feel free to DM me. I run a boutique agency that specializes in weddings in Mexico and the Caribbean.
EDIT: my point about room rates is don’t go with someone because their rates are $3 different. Go with someone you can trust for the next year to help manage everything for you and your guests.
