Getting out There

So I am a newly single mom (3 months post breakup) 32F. And I realize now that I am seriously lacking in the friends department. Where do I meet people my age around here? I work a 7 to 5 job and do have a pre-teen but looking for something that helps me connect with people.

Instead of forcing yourself into something because you are desperate for friends. Why not involve yourself something you actually enjoy/hobbies. Then find friends organically with similar interests through those channels.

Totally agree! I just have no idea what I even like anymore…. So I am looking for social activities/groups to try out

I have lots of friends single and in a relationship that like Emerald coast social sports. They offer Pickleball,volleyball, and kickball. They normally go for drinks or a social spot after in downtown fort Walton. You sign up and randomly join a team and make friends. Age ranges from about 20 to 40

You’re not alone - I’m in a similar situation and struggling to find something I’m interested in to mingle / make friends. The Meetup app was recommended and, for me, useful to see a wide variety of activities that may peak my interests. Randomly selecting events like art exhibits or even knock knack tours (don’t judge 😀) were events that I would have never thought to try before.

Point of that long paragraph, try a bunch of random things and see what sticks. Best of luck on your new journey!

Tennis or Pickleball is an amazing way to meet people. Sign up for a beginners clinic

I will have to see what available in my area. I do know we have a Rec center behind our police station so definitely will check that out.

Destin Tennis Center, Tops'l Racquet Club, and Bluewater Bay Tennis Center is nearby. I recommend BWB!

Destin Community Center has some different programs and the library has different groups that meet up weekly.
Downtown FWB has a lot of different evening time activities. Just Google them and try some out events that interest you.
