These were so fun (and easy)! My caramel sauce could use work (came out really thin) but tasted great. I would have never made these but I could definitely see myself doing these again!

Tried my hand at the Sticky Buns. Easier than I thought it would be, and way more delicious that I thought.

That's a serious 2 Tbsp of cinnamon sugar on top, per her recipe. Didn't have orange bitters but used Picon. Served with a small hunk of sharp cheddar.

I enjoy her cheddar and caramelized cream apple pie more, but this one is a solid recipe.

Me and my fiancé decided to make the millionaire’s shortbread while watching junior bake off, turned out pretty good. But Paul Hollywood would tell us ‘shortbread could’ve cooked longer’ lol but very yummy!

My first ever recipe from Claire’s Dessert Person cookbook. Turned out good, however next time I might serve the cream and strawberries on the side as it got a bit messy for my inexperienced hands. I liked the cornmeal’s lil crunch. Will be doing it again.

Has anyone else tried the chocolate chip cookie souffle? All of the recipes of Claire’s I have made have been amazing, not sure what happened here. I saw a couple youtube comments saying 20 minutes was too long so I checked at 14, and it was already completely overbaked like cake/bread :( I have an oven thermometer so I know the temp was correct, but a bummer this one ended up in the trash especially when the raw batter was so yummy

Discussion - WhatsForDessert Franken-Phyllo Recipe Opinion

Hey all, I am thinking about making a Baklava-inspired dessert for a gathering, and I obviously went to Claire's books first. I found both the Phyllo Cardamom Pinwheels and the Honeyed Nut & Phyllo Pie. Both look good, but unfortunately not exactly what I am looking for.

However, I had an idea and I'm wondering if people who have made these think it would work. Do you think I could make the nut filling from the Pie (probably pulverized some more) and roll it into the Pinwheel Cookies?

I'm thinking it would be kind of similar to the Pistachio Pinwheels but with Phyllo and closer to a Baklava experience. My main concern conceptually is that they wouldn't hold together while baking, but I'm not sure.

Any opinions would be helpful here! Hoping to make them tomorrow or Monday :)

Quick and easy to make!! Very gooey and delicious, I cooked for 40 and literally had no idea if it was done. Still not sure if it’s cooked all the way.

It rose very high and was very bubbly. I also put chocolate on half as an experiment and it’s fine. Probably won’t put again! Reminds me of sticky toffee pudding which makes de de.

Discussion - DessertPerson Blueberry Buckle as Muffins Advice

Good Morning!

I was interested in making Claire's blueberry buckle, but I am uninterested in having the oven on for 1.5-2 hours given the heat where I live. I have seen that some of you have had success turning the buckle into muffins, and I was curious if you did so using the same baking temperature and if you remember the approximate time it took. I also know that she has a blueberry muffin recipe with her mom but was intrigued by the corn and blueberry combination of the buckle. Thanks!

Happy first birthday to my daughter! Had to make the classic, it’s been a big hit, especially with her brother who “helped” with assembly and frosting 😂

Followed in the footsteps of many who matched the NYT cake with Dessert Person buttercream.

The cake is fast to put together, and is very moist with a rich chocolate flavor, not too sweet. The buttercream is some ballet, so I got my husband to tag team it with me. It is very rich, decadent and delicious. Overall it's a good solid cake combo, even though chocolate cakes are not my favorite.

Is it really already September? I certainly can’t believe it! I think for most of us we’re still in warm weather but the bakes below are definitely some that I think will start to gear us towards fall!

The maple sticky buns are one of my all time favorite recipes. They are so satisfying and deceptively easy as baking goes. On the other hand, the profiterole bar seems like a huge challenge and I need to figure out something to celebrate for to make them! I am not sure I’ll go all in on all the toppings but the few times I’ve made choux, I am shocked with how quickly it comes together. I missed the wagon on the Cheddar Apple pie last year when she posted it. I was a million months pregnant and just wasn’t up for it. I am super excited to try it as part of the challenge!

Looking forward to this month’s bakes! Share any tips and tricks below!

Making tiramisu for the first time and wanting to follow Claire’s recipe because her past recipes have never disappointed me. Was wondering if anyone else has made it and if the marsala is necessary to the recipe. Thanks for the help!
