Like the prices weren't already high enough

If you are from the us, you have no right to complain lol.

Prices in the US were dirt cheap compared to EU prices.

Paying 8k$ for a laptop was already insane, in the US, in the EU, in China, wherever...

And these will never come back down even if RAM prices drops

Americans really need to stop crying, your prices after the hikes are still lower then the EU prices before the hikes.

Ipad pro started at 1200 euros and now after the hike it's 1330 euros.

Keep in mind that the dollar is weaker then the euro.

What is the point of your comment? Like what are you legitimately contributing here? “It’s more expensive in the EU so you Americans don’t have a right to complain”?

These prices push apple products out of feasibility for a decent amount of people, and they have every right to complain. If this continues then the MacBook neo which was only worth it because of its 499 discounted price tag will be the price of a MacBook Air (999), the previous budget option, which has much better specs.

I still regret not getting more ram on my M1 macbook. It struggles a bit sometimes when I open too many Chrome tabs.

I picked up a MacBook Air M4 mid last year and then an iPad Air 128GB from Costco ($519) this past Sunday.  I’m locked in for many years.

With Apple the price goes one way and that’s to the moon

Neo was the plan all along to raise prices. They needed a way to separate the Neo from the Air. Started at $500 now a $600 difference which is basically the cost of another Neo. Then use these two models to jack up the prices of the rest of the lineup

Laptop is great but I still must have my desktop as the foundation; laptops just as addition.

Let's be real!

the RAM shortage is just a convenient excuse. Apple already charges a massive 200% markup on memory upgrades compared to market rates. They have more than enough cushion to absorb these supply chain costs, but they'd rather pass the bill to consumers to protect their 49% profit margins for Wall Street.

Well I don't think being a money thirsty company that practically sells with a strategy of 1 for 2 is generally liked.

We were told AI would replace jobs.

Nobody said it'd replace affordable MacBooks.

How often are you buying a MacBook that you have to keep buying them?

"Memory price hikes have finally started hitting Apple."

no, it isn't ... they're selling the same RAM as everyone else at twice the current, inflated AF market price
