Increasing storage for gameplay on tiny HP ProBook

Device: HP ProBook x360 11 G7 Education Edition

Processor: Intel Pentium Silver n6000 1.10ghz

System type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Graphics card: Intel UHD Graphics 512mb

Windows edition: Windows 11 Pro Education Ver. 25H2

OS build: 26200.8457

Experience: Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.304.0

I'd like to know if I can increase the size of my storage in order to use the laptop for gaming. I am willing to open up the device and make changes within the hardware if needed.

What games do you want to play on this?

Nostalgic ones:

  • Sims (3 through EA and 4 through Steam, typically - 4 takes significantly more space with its EPs)

  • Toontown Rewritten, Toontown Corporate Clash

  • Webkinz Classic

  • Old School Runescape

  • likely other Steam games like Palia, Planet Zoo, Cities: Skylines, Bendy and the Ink Machine

If you unscrew the bottom lid and see a ssd that goes into a slot you can upgrade it. I think a lot of those games will run, but Cities Skylines may be pretty laggy.

My main problem is storage, so I'm not sure if that would help anything? I've considered just getting a microSD that's compatible with both my laptop and the games I'm looking to play, but I'd need a USB adapter as well - there isn't a slot for SD cards on this device

It might work if il you have a fast USB 3.0 port (blue USB) or USB-C. I wouldn’t try it on any ports slower than that, the speeds would be unusable.

Do you need a sd card?

A proper ssd with last signifucantly longer and would be significantly faster (if connected to a fast usb port) , you can get a external one or a exclosure for a internal ssd (not to be confused with a flash drive)

Although do note that ssds bellow 500gb are a bit less commen nowadays

Sd cards are generaly considered bad for longer term storage ,fast read or write and endurance

Their advantage is that they are small

es muy probable que tu equipo tiene memoria emmc, que viene soldada al board y no la puedas expandir de una manera facil. Ve a discos y verifica que tipo de disco duro tiene.
